Signed up for 2 pit stops  again,

last time(s) by accident,

can't sign up right,

and not sure which one would be nice/

mean, etc.

plus two shirts helps, as lose one,

or damaged, like laundry eats it

and still have the other,

and last option, give away a t shirt...

Not likely with me, but the possibility,

exists if have a second...

 

This years was Pink

and post 20th anniversary

which was last year...

Tradition seems to be heavy rain,

but missed that,

like BFF Bike Film Festival?

Snow traditionally,  but that was a long

time ago, and got it back with pandemic

and going online,

though i've not paid to see it,

and lost WiFi so more difficult now...

 

Late arrival for me,

usually the first,

and a lot of people there,

turns out first at the registration

and all staffers, working the tables/

tents/ canopies,

You know who I am?

after some joiing and bravado

with the guy(s), one with facial hair

so guessing upper teen, turns out Liam?

and works there?

i guess i don't pay much attention to the NewCycle

or whatever end of month emails i get

once dumped off the volunteer list with pandemic,

seemed rude, but staff changes, and one nice woman

helped with tubes, though didn't have looked up on

QBP or similar as couldn't get though JBI

ordering slow/ non existent for a month or more...

 

But asking about recycling boxes,

the day before while using WiFi in the garage

entrance a guy loaded his car

emptying things from boxes

and folded the boxes,

quite neatly btw

and i suggested recycling them,

wearing a Keep it Green t shirt

from Lidl $4 sale

but not open, so asked the people

getting ot the bike cage

and got attitude, we don't

and walked off,

seems i'm a bother

 

turns out they don't

have a cardboard recycling dumpster

anymore, or don't have access to the loading dock,

some things going on back there,

and likely lost it,

or not cost effective, a new bike store,

would be getting a lot of boxed bikes,

but for tecycling/ fixer up er bikes

reconditioned, not so many boxes...

and the scrap guy takes from the steps,

i'd gotten a photo of the grinch stealing bikes/

seemd that way around xmas,

salvage is odd, they take, like

Bikes for the World and some collecdting

and others lose out, not so much to pick from,

like say cutting off parts of the frame

and making a stool

the rear triangle/ fork some call it

like the front fork,

down tubes? to drop outs

and spread the back fork wider

dropouts spread legs?

and could be a stool, already has the seatpost

and might still have a seat,

but that's more DIY and some may think

ghetto,

 

but turns out it was attitude that turned me off of it

so much, we are getting rid of him,

and that was likely overhead by a board member

and maybe she won't work there,

they added community relations to the criteria,

but leading by example and attitudes,

elitist, classism,

ableism, and just plain arrogant and nasty,

not that i'm not all the above,

but i'm not paid to be there,

and others not following my acdtions as much,

so changes necessary, Executive DysFunction

and typical of rise to the level of your incompetence,

missing cell phone/ obama phone,

never got someone stole,

coast me a license,

and still have to do things about that,

and other issues,

and trying to get rid of me?

like a neighbor has any say as to w ho lives

nearby?

Arrogance and elitism starts at home i guess,=pa

and sadly even bikers, green and somehow

other characteristics, not all that are good ones,

jocks  and competitive ones at that,

i guess, up there with KillShelterInParadise2020

and other duplicitous policies and practices,

but i digress...

 

took some photos and video clip(s0

country music playing and wanted a sound snippet,

and someone objected to even that,

 

and on to the other one,

got a cold water bottle,

frog lights, turned off the black one,

front white,

and red back light,

and a map,

oh, had a county trails map too,

and some other things,

banana(s) got one each,

and

went and did other things,

forgetting my agenda for the day,

and skipping things,

Harris Teeter had 0.47 cans of beans and tomato,

and try one of each, limit 10

so variations on beans, salt, no salt,

seasoned, and petit(e) tomatoes, sauce,

and types of beans, cannonelli (sp?)

white navy??

garbanzo? dark red kidney beans,

black beans, etc...

 

drop those off, as heavy,

and some other things,

use the bathroom,

and back out,

 

Down to Rosslyn (sp?),

the mega pit stop,

and arrive a camera in my face,

i quickly cover my face,

but they persist,

just as Henry DunBar and

County Board Chair are starting to speak,

(recursive acronym) sticker(s)

bee pollinators,

got a smaller  chocolate at the first stop,

 

someone talking me into a Sustainable,

she looked familiar

and had qr codes, but the business card,

smallest of the things,

and action alerts, like i'd contact a legislator,

how well that worked out, ,for this

and testifying, RRWG

mostly just write about things,

 

Bike Lawyer's daughter loaded me up with a

water bottle, (might scare off some (bad peopel?)?)

bottle opener, (drink much that has non twist off caps?)

key chain, helps finding things?

and a pen,

i skipped on the likely free book?

new edition, i'd had the older one(s)

and maybe look online might be there too...

 

Veg & Butcher

spoon nice shape, could be a SPork (tm elsewhere?),

but not,

and RecycleAble,

and a pen, paper covered,

like butcher paper,

for me to remember them,

(besides writing this up?)

 

up the hill and to WiFi

doing grocery stops along the way,

discount isles of stores i don't go by often,

like SafeWay on the big hill up from Rosslyn,

where i used to get cold water from StarBucks

store in a store there,

now with EBT more options,

and got a sale King Cinnamon Bun,

read the date and past sell by

and turned out rather dry and hard,

but some sugar, and wheat,

family size? thought a juice thing,

but not cups and difficult to open,

 

offered to an asian woman/ girl

going to study

turns out MCATs (like getting into medical school )

so she and likely others got a long rambling

account of going to G!I Patch Adams place

in HillsBoro WV, and the bear rescue,

and some other things,

probably best left unSaid,

 

and despite some vague invite(s) to do other

things, went home before too warm,

started early and up a lot of the night,

dangerous levels of heat, today included

95?F

a killer for some of us old disabled people,

and have some water bottle(s)

my old frozen one thawed during that time,

drank the given disposable from second stop,

and had to pee eventually anyways,

mostly just tired and been around people too long,

still annoyed by phoenix, but guess that is how some are,

and will always be, can't all be Jesse,

and going downhill, if you ask me,

what people think biking is,

and how it's used, for selling alcohol,

guilt from traffic deaths,

even Vision Zero started and deaths are up

pandemic and other problems abound,

much more to do to be safe and green,

sustainable, and kind, caring, respectful, etc...

But i guess i leave that to future generations,

if they even care, enough to try...
