An AldiCantFind2019
at the store where I got
AldiAmbiano9In1ProgrammablePressureCooker2019
which didn't work,
for $26 or so with tax,
the last of my money,
for a while,
i decided to gamble again on
Aldi's
Ambianos...

On a rolling rack looking more like a return,
but had some other interesting (to me) stuff,
if this fell through, I might have gotten,
(beware of eating to the disappointment
of AldiCantFind2019 $s...)
along with a Waffle Iron
(already have a different brand's
from the trash area,
(informal FreeCycle?)
that i've not tried yet,
as need oil to spray?
learn cleaning,
time and patients with,
excessive idle curiosity,
dissatisfaction with
Pancakes2019,
boredom, etc)
Ambiano6Qt4In1MultiCooker2019
box opened, and I didn't,
so likely a return, not sure selling used,
if half price, is the (industry?) standard
and who takes the loos?...
I'm also not sure what is inside
matches the box, but will see,
seems to say 6 in 1 on the base unit,
near serial number, if they are serialed (sp?),
check for model number
The manual, (reading found problems
Not DishWasher Safe:
cannot dishwash
tempered glass top
(handles? stainless rim? vent hole?),
nor
stainless steel rack (why not?),
Trying to buy it,
I asked a staff guy about it
after being ignored for a long while
one older Asian guy looked it
but probably really went for the bathroom,
leaving an empty cart behind,
mostly price,
for $20 something I'd try it,
meanwhile, I checked with the bank
as it's not worth another
$35 overdraft fee...
Staff guy said he/we thinks it works,
and looked up a price and disappeared
again...
I waited in checkout line,
one line closed just before me,
near rush hour time,
another opened,
I had been looking at it
in another store (longingly,
pissed me off, $50+ for something
that doesn't do pressure cooker,
when heard elsewhere the
AldiAmbiano9In1ProgrammablePressureCooker2019
had gone down to $20 or so
(possibly mistaking the MultiCooker,
the naming 6in1
4in1
Multi
Pressure,
Quarts thrown in for size of it,
there's a smaller pressure cooker,
too, introduced previously/originally, iirc),
but that one was gone in a week or so,
painful to go looking at things,
window shopping, when feeling used,
lied to, exploited, etc...
These types of things are
preXmas time 11/2018 dated manual,
AldiCantFind2019
so unless returns or an odd location,
you probably can't find them,
I've only seen this as the last one,
trick is waiting the longest,
but like silent auction, last one
bidding gets it, just price and labeling,
support non existent, afaict,
one store guy when i tried enforcing the price
marked on the shelf,
going back the next day
didn't want to honor that,
wanted me to
do it in cash,
it costs us to use the card(s),
(but the charge was from the card,
giving a credit and bank fees,
having to do multiple transactions
which could have been $70 in bank fees,
buy something else (where does it say that?)
$1.60? for the bent and second
Apple Pie Filling/ Topping cans,
a sort of cheaper replacement
to MinceMeat that I've liked,
they have other fruit fillings,
but at regular price ~$1.50+?
The hand written post over label
said ~$.60
and I've gotten overdraft fees
for ~$3.50 so going to cash,
and laundry money,
only lady at one store in the Aldi chain
(I've visited 7? originally looking for stray
AldiAmbiano9In1ProgrammablePressureCooker2019 )
has given/sold/transferred
me a roll of quarters (early am $100 cash back,
took all/most of her drawer cash,
and then bought other stuff (dutch oven
the 2 varieties aluminum alloy, and
traditional cast iron (last one there
open-ish box, oily finger prints on lid),,
and a lady wanting one, told her there
were more up the hill...,
Quarterwise their rental shopping carts
use quarters (apparently you get it back upon
return, instead of staff going to chase them down,
say in the parking lot), so yet another reason
to keep going to other stores...
eVic bargains, clearance items,
variety, non union and proximity
are some others...
Anyways, at the end of it he said he
could/would find a pressure cooker,
and I left my email (he wanted phone),
I felt hassled about that too...
looked like interviewing and training,
and firing people, so maybe he doesn't
work there anymore, seemed like a guy
i saw before, his name is
on three of the receipts
and the woman who over charged
was not that friendly, just after
BadBunny2019 and i think she was fired,
afaict, others seem to think BadBunny
is a rapper/ hip hop artist, i know/knew
nothing about, maybe a complement,
idk, but didn't match the sentiment/ ridicule,
so maybe staff will discriminate less,
now, and lesson learned, by her,
AlFromAlDiSaysNoPhotosOfMerch2019
and others?
Anyway, they are probably running out the
clock on the 3 month/ 90 return to store,
but 3 year warranty, and other legal
recourse, selling known broken/
used returns as fraud, etc...
I've found recall on a deep fryer unit
on their website, but not included in the app,
so some are known bad, plus voluntary
food recalls, for labeling, contaminants,
allergens, even noted e.Coli/Salmonella,
etc)
So to try the Ambiano6Qt4In1MultiCooker2019
I have to wash the new/used stuff first,
seems fairly standard on Chinese,
and other manufacturing products,
don't know where it's been,
how handled, and food is involved...
I start up the dishwasher in a 3 hour cycle,
for the pot, some dark non stick finish on it,
(I've bought the plastic liners for slow cookers,
but don't want to hassle with them now)
I hand washed the lid,
ignoring the stainless steel rack
which lifts of off the bottom
for say a cup of liquid below
to steam the contents above,
and reading the manual
and other stuff,
while waiting,

think old school radio dials

but can be plugged in,
saves pulling the cord out as much)

and a reason for getting
this for possible use with making
MetaBreadBooks2019
like
FixItAndForgetItBakingWithYourSlowCookerByPhyllisGood2019
seem to only work
with one mode, so far,
and you can add time to it
with the right dial
(think channels (FM 86?-107+)
as rotates all the way around),
after changing modes,
as it went off, unexpectedly,
and quietly, compared to

LED with Blue light background
so I (but you?) can read this in the dark,
kinda,
if young enough, lean over, don't have
bi/trifocals, remember eye glasses,
when tired, half asleep, etc.
Other cookers/ pressure or otherwise,
an older Ambiano has a base that
points up more, i guess assuming,
possibly like coffee makers
(idk, i don't drink coffee)
that it's at an angle
significantly below you,
which isn't good,
if you are in a wheelchair,
height challenged,
etc...
No Alarm
No Alarm on this, so just shuts off,
better for sleeping thru,
maybe a switch and something,
relays, etc not loud enough,
but boiling over you might hear that,
if near by....
Modified Text
a diff problem,
as probably edited with the wrong tab,
having multiple up when i got back to edit,
and mucked things up,
I went and deleted the latest revisions
which seemed to change things back,
and may have lost about 10 minutes
of additions and changes,
which, if effing brilliant,
are bad things to lose,
but if more readable,
and better before, then
AGoodThing,
so like many wikis that get graphittied
(sp?) with crap, there is an easier way
to change back,
but there is no good merge
like Git,
and other programmers' source code
Revision Control Systems
some mentioned in Legacy2019
etc
is not smart, so screwed/ effed
for anything complex, and left to manually
edit things and add them back in,
which would be pdf of output
of diff/ changes,
and typing back in,
or tedious cut and paste
since no Search and Replace
and easily automated way to do that...
While there is an API,
for PBWorks.com,
the language bindings,
probably don't include
Perl,
or anything easy...

What's Missing?
Reason on why the lid and stainless steel rack
are not dishwasher safe...
I was able to unscrew
the door handle like lid and
silicone seal inside,
and lots of places
for bacteria, etc to hide...
In Welding Class,
someone was trying to weld kitchen safe,
stainless steel (a still?),
and the surfaces need to be smooth,
and these, especially inside were not,
at all, so bad design on that,
several ways, imnsho...
What Can Be Found?
Reasons to buy something else...
What Can Not Be Found?
Another one,
spare parts,
actual support,
instead of pretend support,
etc...
How To Analyze?
Lenses
Noob
Maybe a first one,
and learn from your mistakes?
Survival cooking say off site,
not real stove available,
or outside, with long extension cord,
fix something,
heat up something,
but don't rip on the cord,
check gauge wire,
don;t get wet/ damp/ etc...
and warned about that stuff...
Rivals
Not sure what is really innovative about
this product, so going with another
brand may make some sense,
if at full price, not sure it would
be worth it, knowing what i know
from reading a lot of the limitations/
legalese, having and using it for a bit,
cheap choices on lid handle,
non dishwasher safe
(leeching chemicals from the plastic
handle?)
and other issues make it less
than full use practical,
imnsho...
Pressure Cooker Fans
some may thing a multicooker contains
pressure cooking functions,
but this may be more marketing
misnomer than product...
Odd Sites Needing Some Food Capability Like Libraries, etc
This seems to fit with displosable type
construction equipment
but for an event,
and take home after,
say foot ball games,
tailgate parties,
places without a kitchen,
but people need to eat,
more than a microwave,
etc...
One, or few time use,
and move on...
Carrying options don't match
warming bags/cases etc
for CrockPots...
Assumptions
Cheap is better?
Support costs are probably about equal
to the purchase price,
making obsolescence the name of the game,
and Twice as Nice/Good
doesn't apply to non food items,
and other exclusions, so screwed,
so many ways,
cannot find information about it
in advance, like looking up on the web,
the support company doesn't
return is the only option,
and that is obfuscated/ run around,
delayed, can't find anyone,
the cashiers are ignorant,
no customer service desk,
and no manager(s) that i can see,
and just plain lying (sp?) untrue/
false/ fraud, afaict...
Time Limits
AldiCantFind2019
limited availability
partially determine reduced price
as some stores mark down,
and get rid of to make space for
newer seasonal items,
so the last ones are the cheapest,
so if you need spare parts,
buy another?
Then have say two pots,
lids, base units, manuals,
etc...
But kinda defeats the purpose
of saving money,
in the first place,
having to buy two
to use in the long run...
Technology marches on
Ovens2019
have progressed,
control and automation
food processing,
and other stuff,
originally on off switch,
now displays, more fuzzy
(but not rice cooker fuzzy,
and advanced feature on some
very high end ones,
for making porridge (sp?),
iirc)
90 Day store return/refund?
3 year Warranty
(likely requires shipping back
to factory/ distributor,
with proper authorization,
likely more than the discounted
device price....
PlannedObsolesence2016
yet again, afaict, iirc...
Unknown repair prices,
not said up front,
have to ship the item there to find
out, with a prior authorization required
to send in the first place,
no repair place on site,
locally, near by, within your state,
etc...
Book Data
(maybe the manual for the machine?)
ISBN none
Model Number MC-603D
Date Code: 08/18
SoftBound manual(s)
folded over 8.5x11 inch size
CopyRight : none mentioned
have not found a PDF online,
like for the pressure cooker(s),
I/you might need to keep looking,
I may end up scan myself for backup,
as finding paper once i figure it out,
not likely...
Most of the manually say include
if turning over to a third party,
aka hand me downs...

so will have to learn more,
and check
FixItAndForgetItBakingWithYourSlowCookerByPhyllisGood2019
and other resources,
Giant's Savory magazine
April 2019 issue
has a slow cooking brisket recipe,
iirc, but i don't get that, so will see,
find chicken, whole,
as might fit in
but defrosting required,
adding significantly to the time...
And requiring forethought,
planning,
many hours awake time,
space in the fridge, instead of freezer,
safe spaces to leave out,
thawing within food safety guidelines,
etc...
I'm remembering the manual in a don't do,
warning section,
which most probably ignore,
sentence mention of
a wait 45 minutes
for temp to stabilize
say fridge to use in the base unit,
avoiding condensation
going to the heating elements?
maybe warping?
and other problems of
sudden temp change,
which is mentioned but not
what happens (sparks, fire, burn out?)...
On a gas stove, some if safe enough,
just pop, bubble up, etc
but with electricity,
shorting, etc is possible,
and other problems
likely...
Having warped plate
(thicker than sheet)
aluminum
in welding class,
i know they are not all straight,
so will see,
take it easy,
and no way of replacing the pot,
unlike say a more popular
and available
name brand like Crock pot,
and other name brands, afaict,
I'm guessing maybe
next Thanksgiving time
they put out a new model
(and don't update the pot?)
Vs. Sewing Kits
Sewing, machine needles
were mentioned, on the other stuff,
kits, travel, tailor, etc some scissors,
mini, thread, etc
I've not gotten anywhere with the
$45? battery and plug in sewing
machine, Yet, so more to do,
always...
And not those will disappear
quicker, probably shouldn't have written
about that...
Nor mentioned it while waiting in line,
in one store that had them,
even week(s) later,
after special time,
but regular price and had spend
on this

YMMV, at your own risk,

Would be good to weigh the thing,
as Aldi.US and App don't seem to

Weigh the pot,
though bigger than the food scale
and
how to see it, sideways?
The glass lid i could see thru
though curved,

Cardboard box, StyroFoam

by comparison...
Power Supply/Transformers
likely most of it,
without the pressure required,
wall thickness and stuff,
pot likely weighs less,
9? Qt pot, overhead is not
going up over the lid, and clogging
vents, this only a hole in the glass lid...
Careful of direction of the steam,
sometime it might be better
pointing it behind the unit?
YMMV, serious burns possible,

Conclusion
Summary of experience or similar
Works, kinda, so far,
user errors, to learn,
guessing times, settings,
and doing them manually...
With manual settings,
and things like measuring,
as my Black and Decker
single function rice cooker
pot has lines for water levels
(one side is white rice,
the other brown,
so mixed is what?
somewhere in between?)
though difficult to see,
molded indentations, really
and an odd measuring scale/cup,
User Error 1: Cook Rice
I tried cooking white rice at
1x 617 g bag
6 gram bag,
and ~2 quarts cold water (filtered)
and got a crusty bottom
but used high setting
then turned it down
and over hours,
3 am?
to 6 am
thinking it wouldn't run long enough,
run low on water,
and eventually just gave up,
opening the top
says add 10-15? minutes each time
you peek...
So could theoretically go back in time,
no AutoStiring like high end models
from other companies,
and bread makers,
ranging in the $200+
instead of $26 or so i got this for,
real bargain, will be a test of time,
one cNet video said/ asked
where are you going to store/keep it,
when not in use, like possibly
pointless to have,
counter space is one thing
(turns out my counter is not that level,
assumed to be, but not...
and doesn't lean/drain toward the sink)
heat resistant top?
I used a baking sheet
to heatshield/keep it off,
same one that rusted earlier,
for the other Rival Slow Cooker
which has a hole on the bottom
My dedicated Black and Decker
rice cooker i run in the sink,
but this is likely too big,
without enough air circulation around it...
On my stove top doesn't really fit,
and counter space is at a premium,
so will see,
stacks of stuff not working/
outdated, toasters,
toaster oven/
pressure cooker, not working,
rice cooker,
and gadgets,
good for one thing,
will see how multi this is like
the Ambiano convection mentioned in
Ovens2019
5 minute increments for slow cook times,
and hours v, minutes used to for microwaves,
who often i end up using it...
A big test, for me,
will probably be dried beans,
and maybe bread/cake,
per
FixItAndForgetItBakingWithYourSlowCookerByPhyllisGood2019
so will see..
Beans
I tried a bag of beans,
and generally ended up undone,
but I did not presoak
(sp? hypen?)
them,
I tried, kinda the quick soak
method, get to a boil,
let sit for an hour,
or just keep cooking,
and boiling.
I did not rinse them,
as after soak, most methods
have you replace the water,
with going to get filtered water
and temperature,
some one mentioned shocking the beans,
sudden temperature change, etc...
and time to reheat the water,
from boiling to room temperature,
tap, or refrigerated, is extra cooking time,
but i guess i could microwave the water
to add, but seems like another nuisance (sp?)
hassle...
And using canned beans is easier,
though not cheaper, and heavier to carry,
and not what I'm given
most of the time...
ThePracticalitiesOfFoodDistribution2012
if run well, imnsho, could offer choices,
of canned, or dried,
substitutions, for allergic, food sensitivities,
cultures, and just plain preferences,
so much wheat,
so much dairy,
and vegan and other substitutions,
exchanges, along the food pyramid
and American Diabetes/Heart Association
exchanges, instead of left on your own,
to barter with people after the fact,
mostly i don't keep track, though the beans
had been going to just about the same people
each time, so there is a kickback type problem
of giving people stuff they can not use,
refusing to give everyone everything they are entitled to,
and favoritism, discrimination,
and plain hatred,
amongst (sp?) people involved
some along ethnicities (sp?)/ races/ religions/ etc
and some sadistic personalities,
of staff and volunteers, afaict...
The spices varieties vary with cultures,
so say
African American may want a certain spice kit,
say,
Muslim people may want certain spices,
Spanish speaking/ Latino other spices
(cilantro,
Italian
(Basil, oregano, etc)
Asian (ginger, etc)
And some fairly common,
Salt, Pepper,
Onions, etc...
But Kosher, Hallal (sp?),
Catholic? fish on Fridays, etc
all difficult to arrange/ coordinate,
and for the poor, unlike some TV commercials
for Passover, etc...
Mild Success Whole Chicken
Not sure the weight,
it was an Xmas donated one,
so they didn't weigh and price it,
so guessing from the label,
mid range
3 hours on bake at 355
auto warm worked
started without water,
then added it later,
not measured, and cold,
filtered, etc..,
Don't forget to get out the giblets
package from the inside!
Heart
Liver
Neck
and small pan boiled it for 30? minutes
neck a pain,
heart chewy
and liver was livery without too much strong taste
used the left over oily water for
Stuffing
in stovetop pan
and added more
thought it might use the steaming rack
twisted the wings around
like I've seen for turkeys
something to sit up upon
odd sounds during the baking
creaking, boiling, etc
which takes some getting used to
and i probably didn't get any video of that,
but a lot of stills,
maybe do a time lapse,
but need to setup a tripod,
hook to the ceiling, and do some
learning on time lapse settings,
etc..
gDrug Photos might autogen a movie of it
once all the stuff is up
but got stills interleaved of the settings
device clock too
so not
time clock
wall clock
cooker clock
all somethings to consider if it try that,
sometime
i have another whole bird,
but not in a hurt,
getting the weekly chicken too,
so have that to do this week
Some oddness in it
used a metal spatula,
inside the bird
and it came apart in two
the spatula is not strong enough to lift it alone
and need a fork
or something else
(turkey carving fork like?)
to lift it to a plate
and weigh at the end
crispiness on the bottom is good
didn't stick
at all,
thought i would need to deglaze it
and left out over night
covered the hole up
and nothing bothered it
including me
warmed to loosen it,
thinking i would pour the oil out into
something but didn't really have anything
good to do that in, so leave it?
not sure the pot fits in the fridge
it's big and water and packaging in there,
early in the week, still, it seems,
so will see...
reusing and spoiling/ rancid oils?
what's a few more hours at 80 degrees?
heat back up
and whats that do to it?
anyways, some getting used to
not getting my hands/arms/face
over the steamy hole in the lid,
getting burned,
where to put the spatula,
things/utensils i'm using
and i was able to leave the lid on,
watching it like a hawk,
and hungry despite
baking a mix in the
HamiltonBeachBreadMaker2019
in parallel
defrosting/ thawing time
3+ days used,
might have been ready earlier
and spilled out of a disposable pie plate
so be careful with that
lots of ice/water
instructions said to
salt and pepper it inside and out,
i did not, can't really follow directions
and using less salt,
see what it's like without...
Considered if putting stuffing in the bird,
but not adding to the critical path timing
of it, would have had to think of that earlier,
maybe next time?
and using Gluten Free Stuffing mix?
just did the one I've done before
and have the most of,
this time burning the onions
instead of boiling them
(reading instructions plus sequencing)
rushing with high heat
while trying to get the photos
of the stuffing packaging
with glossy/ shiny packaging
that the auto focus gets messed up
and really didn't get,
maybe have to scan that,
and/or find online
Eggs in Left Over Whole Chicken Fat
4 eggs
High Stove Top setting
defaults to 10 minutes
but didn't really warm up that quick
so I added time,
but don't recall how long
using a wooden spatula
(my usual is metal
with cast iron skillet,
so some getting used to,
but mostly all in use,
being washed so,
not an option there either...)
Put the lid back on
the oddness of having high sides
but it's wide too
I used the lid to crack the egg shells on
not having anything else handy
that needed to be cleaned soon anyways...
Putting the lid back on
and it started steaming up
fairly quickly
difficult to see thru...
Later, I thought i could just
leave them sunny side up,
and would be done,
but gave in and turned them over
all the fat drippings were loose
and just ate those
finding no left over bones to speak of,
and not burnt, but not crispy either
oily chewy fat
and expect to have to use the bathroom
badly later
stomach was gurgling anyways
with all the
fat from the whole chicken
overnight
and will be an interesting day
(did OK, much of the chicken skin
was thrown out with bones).
4 Eggs turned out basically deep fried
used 1000 Island salad dressing on top,
as I would usually put BBQ sauce,
or steak sauce on plain eggs,
but didn't have much left...
Ranch would have been an option,
but chose the more tomatoy one instead...
Variation later?
Finish Oil With Refried Rice Package
Aldi refried rice package on sale,
so picked it up for about $0.50?
Not a lot of rice given a white
rice 3 lb bag is $1.70 or so...
But flavored and trying something different...
Could have gotten more,
but wanted to try first...
Oddly there seems to be a
sequence to cooking and reusing
the pot before having to dishwash,
so doing multiple parts of am eal,
say a day long,
and this finished the fat left over,
no need to add oil,
but guessing times,
boiling time?
then down to low simmer,
and was it really done,
if i open the lid add 10-16 more
minutes for it to warm/
steam back up?
so risking undone/ less done
and it takes practice and skill,
stovetop mode may mean lid off,
but steamed up give some temp
and heat guesses,
had i tried aparagus (sp?)
in this multicooker
instead of the alloy dutch oven
maybe greenness changes when
done on some stuff,
or overdone, would have to learn
how to tell...
Say main meat type things with oil,
and down to boiling type stuff,
if timing right resting meat,
and back in, for later parts,
and then dessert of something baked?
But sticky mess of sugar,
so precook something for the next
meal/ day, transfer to different
container(s) for dishwashing the
multi cooker pot...

What makes a device good,
for you?
What risks do you take?
Financially?
Emotionally?
Physically?
Socially?
(Spiritually, say cooking an
Easter/Passover/Ramadan (sp?)/Seder (sp?)
meal, and bombs
(read fails)?)
What programability (sp?)
do you think it has?
If i could custom program a
ramp up, high to low,
(in what time frame,
with what sensors?
just under boiling,
not boiling over, etc)
to turn itself off,
and/or AutoKeep Warm
based on humidity,
time and other variables,
say a darkness of the outer
part, sometimes a bread like crust?
Nope, not with this,
and not from an app,
BlueTooth, etc, so geeky definitions
of program, do not apply to this,
a few settings, limited vocabulary,
etc...
At 1350 or so Watts,
it has some power,
(turns out Rival CrockPot
(ceramic) is higher power
and mention of food safety in
FixItAndForgetItBakingWithYourSlowCookerByPhyllisGood2019
newer devices
being higher power,
see the book for temps given)
so be careful,
if you find one,
(you) must be this tall,
(dated amusement park/
carney (sp?) reference)
old, responsible,
etc for using power,
toaster oven,
microwave, etc,
It is not a Toy,
nor
Easy Bake Oven,
13+ or maybe younger,
but ages mean little,
as responsibility,
maturity,
budding addiction to smart phone like devices,
adult supervision,
ability to learning to cook,
even kids on cable show cooking
challenges...
It does not show open flame,
but electricity,
so no water on the base unit,
etc...
Like a refrigerator that fails,
requiring throwing out the spoiled food(s),
if not cooked, may get expensive,
but how often do power outages
happen (joke, summer storms,
infrastructure, life in the projects,
paid bill right?, etc...)
Blowing the electrical circuit breaker/fuse,
if you have multiple devices,
on the same wall plug/circuit,
old wiring, etc
is a possibility, imnsho...
The manual says
don't use extension cord(s)
but no reason why
(gauge, tripping hazard?)
(reference page number?)

- deleted the most current revision,
- first time doing that,
- some changes lost,
- but diff file(s) were uploaded
- 20190412a.Diff.Ambiano6Qt4In1MultiCooker.aka.mozilla.pdf
- 20190412b.Simplify.Diff.Ambiano6Qt4In1MultiCooker.aka.mozilla.pdf
- but those don't give the entire lines/ file(s)
- just the changes/ deltas
- so difficult to read instead, and follow the changes,
- other revision controls do a +plus/-minus type thingline by line,
- which automated ways of putting the changes back in might be easier,
- idk, haven't programmed it,
- adding a lot of other stuff to this,
- but sections, etc and other stuff to do,
- besides in the middle of the night,
- despite sleep schedule changes,
- so clarity may be decreased by these latest changes,
- but problems structurally
- and whiny tone typical of this...
- added Beans
- other stuff, see a later diff for what/where/when/etc
