In a season of uncertainty, more to worry about...
Body
August is one of those months like April that is a time of change, some good, some bad...
Instead of Tax Time, which April represents to a lot of people, August is the end of Summer for many people, and back to school for others...
Some schools have already started, the odd program, that some places do, but others start after Labour Day...
Football practice happens and the pro teams are starting their PR machines up too...
Rio Olympics happen(ed?) and not sure what all is going on there, some swimmers, local and others, plus I would imagine a whole lot more... Possibly good distraction from the Politics, the USofAssholes is doing so much of..
Not that I'm not American, but what that means based on our actions, as a country, can't tell much...
The peaceful transition of power, every 4 years, eight years, etc...
But not so peaceful when protests and people killed at or around political rallies...
So backpacks and bikes, some people, including little ones are considering being more green...
How does that work for a family trying to get kids to school on a pedal powered green agenda?
A cargo bike? For littler ones? Mom's Taxi?
Dad's Taxi, and the toddler who squirms?
Front kid carriers exist, back carriers exist, and trailers, kid trailers and trail a long bikes exist too...
But kids are heavy, easier to roll, basically strollers with pedal power, the yuppie joggers, and companies like BOB (Beast of Burden) make some single wheel luggage ones, not suitable for kids (YAK, IBEX, etc), as well as Burley two wheel kid trailers, and others...
Folding is a nice feature, as when not in use can be folded away, for multimodal, and /or smaller storage space...
Some people invite themselves into your back yard, but it's shared, and you have no say in the matter...
Then they try to tell you what to do, wearing a green non profit logoed shirt, and feeling all self important,
They don't actually live there, but can tell you what to do?
For $5 and a lease rider, joining bike share, and privacy goes out the window, kind of like discount cards at stores,that you have to tell the cashier your phone number, instead of type it into the keypad on the card machine...
So your phone number and harassing calls, pretending to be wrong numbers, but really a way to mine your discounts, coupons and other stuff, tracking and stalking like a gang member, and worse, possible terrorist, stranger danger gets a little bad after a while...

In Fairfax County, someone was shot and later died at a hospital, and the police information coming out about it...
Martinez (of no fixed address) did not respond when told to put down the sign, and was shot... Was he (the officer) speaking Spanish?
They seem to have screened him for mental health and/or heat related illness, and did OK, at least enough to discharge, (Read: No insurance?) but still a problem, as discharged and someone called security on him, after discharged to a bus (reminds me of "you need a cab" laugh ridicule, after a cab ran over my feet...) Two other facilities were nearby, Woodburn Crisis Care, and the State Institute, NVMHI, where the NVRPP's RRWG used to meet, before getting an office, at Pathway Homes, now since closed.. Pathway Homes still exists, and got administrative fees, but the RRWG Recovery seems to have collapsed, and/or I can't seem to access anything, too many fights getting money from the state, and then nothing for moi, NetWork Of Care did well though, at least money wise....
Peer specialists exist, and were probably in the vicinity, and we (RRWG) were being pushed to have Crisis Services, On Our Own's Judi Chamberlain found some help, finally at a Canadian peer services place, and wrote the Book on it, On Our Own... But apparently you have to go thru the traditional mental health system, and/or die first before finding out about something better...
Looking back, Recovery became a buzz word, Obama used it for the Recovery.Gov and TIGER funds, now passe, as you can't even find stuff about it, the website shut down, probably on the certificates that are necessary, and upkeep... Can't really recover, that is a problem, long term sustainability, and true recovery...
In mental health, done by professionals, it seems to mean that you get a job, from disability, basically thrown off the welfare roles to meet societies' standards or what Good is...
But consider Retirement, that elusive state where people get to do what they want, and are paid, possibly thru annuities, to not play, no work, not x,y,z...
But disability is different, I've said it's not a hammock, the safety net, quickly disappearing, and people just fall, likely to their deaths, afaict...
As I get older, I can't see as well, so the small fonts, fine print, and other stuff, is a problem, more typos, more problems, and feeling your pain, is a pain...
So information overload...
and Compassion Fatigue...
Can't stop to talk to you, you are under age and I'm going elsewhere to get away from you, basically because you keep asking for stuff... The Gimme's, that people have... Will they have paper, and a number two pencils to start school? What about clothes? Will they have the new jeans, uniforms, kewl threads, the $200+ shoes / sneakers and other stuff the rich (white?) kids have? Or social outcasts, like many technical people we used to be called nerds, later geeks, and then is was supposedly chic... (read: if rich)

Additions to previous posts, screen size and readability of stuff. The TracFone smart phone can set text size bigger, the SLW , I don't think so...
The Court one, did the guy reoffend? Was he deported, killed, imprisoned, and/or let go?
Neighbors inthe drug store as I got back, said someon ewas going to die in virginia tonight/ today, maybe implying me, maybe the case, maybe just some generic black/white/histpanic/homeless guy and/or gal?
What happens to Obama's Kids, not the real ones, but the figurative ones, after a president leaves office, does the new president adopt them?
Red haired step kids, forever?
Or is this just anxiety of the season?
Or the disabled life?
Not Dead Yet, to be sure...

Ongoing, follow along, and other crap for what we don't really knkow, the future is uncertain, the politics and other stuff seems to make all that worse, watch the stock market and the news, that is the boob tube, to make people feel one way and/or the other, mostly to make them money, stay tuned, more ads to follow...
