Introduction/Definition/etc
Biking along and see kids throwing stones
into the stream that a dog is trying to retrieve...
Body
Original Text
Post storms/ rain, water still kind of heavy, a lower bridge,
near a playground, and a closed for renovation bathrooms
near a pavilion and branches of the W&OD and 4 Mile Run,
post shootings in a Pittsburgh synagogue...
The lower bridge, has two pipes underneath concrete with a
fair amount of stream flow... getting trapped in those pipes
could be fatal, the kids are hyper and non compliant,
the woman with the kids and dog, doesn't seem to
have it all under control, the kids are hainvg "fun",
but like peanut butter in the dogs mouth,
not fun for the animal, basically mean
and cruel...
The dog tries to please the kids and owner/ handler,
but common sense, which seems to be lacking,
is that that is not a good place to play, the stream
is not a pond, it's colder out now, not summer,
and while the kids want to throw stuff, and the
dog would like to retireve stuff, it isn't a floating thing,
and the kids are not under control, they throw
into the bad parts, and seem to enjoy
not following instructions/ orders,
which leads to the kid throwing into
the deap section down stream from the
concrete bridge, and the dog nearly
drowns, the mother/caregiver, maybe an aunt,
I'm not sure, pulling the dog out by collar
and scruff of the neck, out of an embankment
where it could not climb out by itself,
not sure what her issue was, i went closer,
from the upper bridge down to the lower,
big steep hills, and wearing brakes,
runoff and water still on the concrete,
why did you go in the water?
getting her shoes wet, maybe Sunday
best, cleaning and all sorts of things going on,
asking me what to do after they created
the situation that almost killed the dog,
she could go in the likely dirty stream,
runoff, and sewage has been alerted
before, but usually hear about it afterwards,
instead of then...
I had passed that aread earlier in the morning,
and two deer were sighted, when quiet,
and early, not the first time there,
and having to be careful who i told,
lest hunters go kill them, and other cruelty...
Modified Text
What's Missing?
A caring adult,
kids with limits
likely montessori kids which
want to discuss it while doing things
dangerous to the animal who is trying
to do what it is bred to do, retrieve
but throwing rocks is constantly
disappointed in not being able
to get them,
Warmth, as cold and wet,
while the dog has some undercoating,
a younger dog and not really a clean
city stream.
The dog part, on the other side of the playground,
may have been busy, mid day Sunday, and
maybe other animals, and this young one
but signs do not play in the water,
may be needed. Just because it is
scenic doesn't make it safe,
even a car can be swept away by a few inches of
water running. a 40-50 pound dog,
or even kid, easily swept away and drown,
like a few inches in a bathtub, it doesn't
take much...
Fun seemed to include cruelty...
What Can Be Found?
Blame game,
shared use park, so not exclusive use,
not a reserved party area, no picnicing,
and meanness is the areas defining
characteristic, to people like me,
helpless animals, and others...
What Can Not Be Found?
How To Analyze?
Lenses
Assumptions
People care about each other
playgrounds and kids are cruel,
but learning how not to be,
may be a stretch for some people...
Time Limits
Busy time, other things to do,
eat lunch, warm up, find things
i had forgotten leaving quickly
for something else,
time to save the animal,
too busy to stay and deal with
it someome may have done a citizens
arrest, taken the animal, while some
familiarity with the dog, andi it's name,
a yound animal, and not well
managed/ handled, basically
blame the parent/ caregiver,
for not having the sense not
to play like that and there,
while incapaible, it seemed to saving
the animal, an oops the dog was
going to die, sort of emotional
blackmail, trap/ trick, etc...
But they called me jewish,
and other problems which may
be typical of playground nastiness,
mixed religions/ races, etc
but times of stress and
wondering segregation again,
conflicts played out on basically
a small scale Great Falls, and
instead of floatation devices,
and safety equipment, just
meanness, and we know better,
you can't tell us what to do,
it's our dog, we can kill it if we want
to, but no it's against the law
to do that, and you have no
reasoning to really think it would be ok,
create a situation, and blame passers by
for the outcome?
Thrill seeking at others expense?
this is why that is not a good place to play
lihe that, but you know better, until
something happens and hten you don't
what do i do?
don't get in that situation...
Be the dog, you created it,
if you have no caring for the anmial
and don't say no to your kids,
they do things not knowing
and just want to argue about it,
while continuting to do the dangerous
things, for another, not caring,
and not being responsible,
so someone else has to do
the laundery for the wet shoes,
boots/ etc. someone has to get the dog
trapped in the pipe out,
oops...
how fun is that?
not much for the dead dog,
nor the rescue person(s),
nor for the person doing the report,
Conclusion
Summary of experience or similar
Not much, at this point, over 12 hours afterwards,
and still rater bothered by it, like witnessing a
drunk driver hitting someone/thing,
senseless careless, reckless
disregard for animal and human life,
while blatantly saying it's fun...
really the opposite of fun,
criminal, cruel and unjust,
passersby and other witneses
are supposed to ignore it?
in a public park?
