Introduction/Definition/etc
Tough to be wild, inside the Beltway, in the city, and just in general...
Body
So riding along and a guy passes me, under an underpass, and I have to make some noise like "biker up" meaning he could have easily created an unsafe condition of a biker coming the other way, crashing into me, and / or something else, like the stream, a wall, kids going to school, a senior, etc...
A little further, and I look over, and there are deer, three of them, and they looked like a momma deer, and two baby deer, so I stopped and got some photos of them, but movie setting would have been better, as people started harassing me, like hunters, and/or day labourors...
I was in a biker's way, said there were deer, and he was not very nice, and said he was going to give me a ticker, which I thought ridiculous, as stopping on a trail, is not the same as stopping on a highway, more like stopping on a sidewalk, and jurisdiction probably doesn't exist, he might be a trial monitor, but that is not full enforcement authority, afaict.
I was blocking their shot
They got my numbers
I would be responsible for anything that happened to anyone because of the deer...
They hoped I got Lymes' Disease
and then I was stalked/ hunted/ attacked later in the day, with all sorts of problems, like hunted, even around hunters, who wanted to know where I saw the deer, etc...
Some others said officially they were taken somewhere else... Not sure I believe that, as I would not see much about it, like if the reporting system had said, do you think these deer are a danger to themselves, and/or others?
And the financial incentive is to hunt them, legally, and/or not legally, with the bow / archery program started up again, and that has probably not changed, much, and /or enough...
Many further out, probably think deer are a nuisance (sp?), a pain, basically, and get in driver's ways...
Others, gardeners probably thing they are eating their crops, and likely Elmer Fudd, about it, like shooting that rascally rabbit, also eating their crops, but on public land, maybe the landscaping can be done so that they don't really want to go that way, and sort of automagically learn that it is a dead end, and no good eats further along...
Similarly, I had hopes of having some good gardening for passersby, maybe a fruit, and/or veggie stand along the way... Further out, I had seen a farmer's stand, at the end of the driveway, with a honour system of pay what you can' leave change, type stuff...
In Florida, there were Oranges and Grapefruit, some of the best I had there, even with the commercial stuff later, they didn't look good, but seemed like someone put out some of what they could not use/ and or sell, and while not good looking, tasted great, and were there, available, cheap, and fresh...
Many places there are gardens in the back yards of people along the trail, and not sure how they fence them in, much, and wondering later about day labourors, homeless and others, we see reports of dead people along the parks, and wonder if bodies are dumped there, and/or people just go someplace, and end up dying...
Say someone went into your shed, and ended up dying, there, would you be responsible?
Did you give permission for illegal entry?
What were they doing in there?
Making babies?
Planting crops?
Stealing?
Doing drugs?
Gang activity?
And/or just trying to stay out of the rain/ snow/ heat/ sun/ etc?
Using it as an outhouse, and changing the baby, in some privacy?
While possibly cleaning up after themselves, brought, wet wipes, packed out refuse, etc...
Kind of like hunter's cabins in the Alaska shows, where instead of hypothermia, they have places to not freeze to death, and it's kind of like Appalachian Trail houses, shacks, where you restock what you use, but online register for them, pay online, etc, and hopefully the last people didn't trash the place, when/ if you get back to a cell tower and can report anything missing, damaged, needs repair the next time volunteers/ etc come through, kind of like trail maintenance, where trees and branches down, blocking paths, are removed with chain saws, etc...
And washed out C&O Canal access... Where a flood comes along, similar to what might have happened with Geshundhiet! Institute and/or the bear rescue place closer to the GreenBriar River in one of their 100 year floods or whatever the last WVA flood was...
Remembering Gaston Flood and Shockloe Bottom flooding out, only a day or few after the rain started, and I had ended my tour to Richmond, VA, hoping to keep going, but low on money, having spent a lot on B&B, Hotel, Camping, cell phone (for emergencies, checking in, geeky amusement, pleasure, etc), not to mention eating a lot more than usual with bicycling all day long, instead of just sitting on a couch, reading, typing, walking a bit, and it was summer time, etc, so sweating, needing a shower, and other cooling off stuff...
But the civil war battle fields, and the heat, remembering they were in wool uniforms, some people, and staying out, I've since learned, in southern US states, fighting likely, jiggers, chiggers, whichever the local ones are, not to mention deer ticks, and other horse flies, no see ems, sunburn, people with muskets, etc trying to kill them and other predatory stuff like hookers, KKK, bandits, pirates, etc...
But I digress, when there were deer, and more nature, worth drinking from the streams, instead of the usual poisons likely almost everywhere, especially in the farming areas, some pesticides and nitrogen plant foods might not be good to eat, so wondering where your food comes from, the grocery store, farmer's market, and or the four footed hoofed thing walking thru your back yard, when your freezer is empty, and the light bills are getting beyond your control, likely from A/C running in the heat, when A/C was invented, and if that works, maybe just peak times, etc,
where given the oil crisis, etc, like previous 1970's Suez Canal, and gas lines, how you will survive, if that is not just Survivalist, and Preppers as they say, sometimes...
But geeky pleasures, of some stuff, the old pioneers that could not just go to the grocery store/ general store for stuff, because they were some of the first, Europeans/ Slaves in the original 13 colonies, and before tobacco, cotton, and other cash crops, supposedly saved VA, and the US, from starvation, besides , of course, the Indians...
But I digress to pre Thanksgiving type drivel, and about time to stop this MourningPages, some verifiable, likely true, but no you cannot kill Bambi, nor me, as that is probably illegal, and unethical, and I probably don't taste that good anyways...
I think I said would you kill your mother?
So why kill a deer?
Someone's response was their mother was pissing them off, or similar...
And that they could not stop laughing enough to aim well...
Maybe just a photo shoot, idk...

Are deer really dosed, and transported out further, like say, bears, elephants and other valuable species, and/or are they left to roam the streets like moose in Northern Exposure? Polar Bears in Hamilton, Alberta, or somewhere in Canada?
Finding links to these pieces of data, might help in interpreting this drivel, and making a case to save a n animal, which some young people might find joy in seeing, for the first, and /or only time(s) in their lives, maybe before they are extinct like the buffalo/ bison, once almost became...

- Jerry created this page to do more MourningPages on something experienced recently...
- some typos corrected, for readability, some other pages have some words, maybe others inserted to make it look stupid, and can't follow, make me look crazy(er), discrediting, etc...
- oh, and can't find some memory bought, some say they needed it, and other claim to have it, so thieves, of all sorts about, and still not much done about it...
- And deer probably wouldn't know what to do with a memory stick, a Lion, Tiger, Bear (etc) might not pass a say MicroSD card well after crunching a camera, and camera person, but finding the scat, and recovering how someone died, might be interesting, strange but true type story, for someone else, sometime in world history...
