EditorsRevenge
Introduction/Definition/etc
So coming back to WG after a couple of weeks out doing dental and other emergencies,
busy doing it all, or at least most of it, and don't really even read this Plot exercise
except the last two options, too busy, and write my feelings on the conflicts within group...
Body
Editor's Revenge
By Jerry W.
~20090304
As he walked in the door with the new issue coming out, the beleaguered,
stressed and tired editor sensed something was up.
The room was eerily quiet but with a mischievous deadly seriousness.
He was greeted with "Speak of the Devil", from the Exec Dir.
He retorted, "Devil is a full time job, maybe devil's advocate"
The conspiracy has been brewing for weeks and months. The young whipper
snapper had been plotting a takeover, having fallen in with a bad crowd,
Ex-Con drug dealer treating the group like his bitch. Must have been high
on drugs or hate or both...
"We don't care what you think."
"Nobody wants to hear that [story idea]" when another had already said she
liked it while he was away.
So what to do?
Rat out little Robin on drugs? Back to jail, prison or the streets?
Hope for some behaviour change? Realizing it's not the streets and being a
poster child for the homeless has it's price for being on a pedestal?
Or revenge?
Take him up the stairs, tie a safe to his ankles and push off the window
ledge, as he cries like the baby coward that he is? That is the most
cathartic, but illegal.
Some time later,
"What are you in for?"
"Murder"
"Rape"
"White Collar Crime"
"Throwing a shoe at President Bush in a press conference"
"Writing a revenge story and hoping it comes true."
Conclusion
Writing is not reality, especially if you journal to yourself, and sometimes share what's going on with you.
Writing a fiction plot exercise got misinterpretted, or just another way to bash the help/ homeless/ abuse people?,
and not give anything back after 1.5 years of WG, buying food, showing up week after week, with only a few exceptions, more than anyone else, and making it a thankless volunteer job, or you just can't get good help,
i.e. the new Vendor Manager, who should know better than to bash homeless, as he is former,
but a disappointment, at least to me and some others...
And when I worked for a shelter, April Fools was no joke, the seasonal hypothermia
shelters close down, lots of competition and I could not find any placements for anywone.
So a bad time to be without...
