OLPC Learning Club with OLPC

coming down to Gallaudet University

in DC had a Book Sprint

called Class Acts

on the One Laptop Per Child XO (-1)

over 9/11 Day of Service

and kinda created a book,

though it needed a lot more,

which probably didn't get done...

Spending a long time,

a long time ago,

writing, in/with a group,

and creating a book(let)

online with FlossManuals.net

which can not now be found?

 

So like Tiger Grants

funding and other stuff,

archiving things on the net,

and hosting (like PBWiki deleting

things not getting updated,

even some of mine,

Jerry Newport's appearance and

Mozart and the Whale

movie screening/ preview trip,

C&O Canal and other stuff,

and Advanced CELT training

over Valentine's Day weekend

so wonder where that can be?

backed up personally?

 

Over machines a plenty,

now collecting dust as unbootable,

and other issues

(see HPProBook645In2018

and a new Ubuntu coming this month,

upgrade? risking unbootable,

or have to go back to WinBlows,

which i probably should have

wiped off and reclaimed space,

but kept for LinuxHygiene

reasons...

Legacy, is generally what people

leave behind, and well,

not sure what all there is,

this "writing", as it's sometimes

called, is on the web,

instead of on paper,

so as with digital things,

photographs, videos,

etc easily accessed,

but also ephemeral,

and difficult to keep around,

say the formats change,

starting with PDFs

which generally include

formatting,

raw text, which goes ASCII to UniCode

RTF Rich Text Format,

but versions of standards?

and other changes over time,

so what to leave things as

stone tablets?

Thou Shalts,

as in biblical?

or something easier

and gentler for the readers,

particularly elderly, mental health,

abused, etc...

 

Stalking

 

While still alive,

finding about people,

is a risk to those living,

perhaps...

 

 

Assumptions

 

The web changes,

and over time,

months, years,

decade(s) etc,

some things are not as easy to find.

 

WayBackMachine may help,

as archives some of the best of the net,

but likely has limitations,

so will see...

How long does it take to lose

your 15 minutes of fame?

but old information like what was produced,

as XO-1 are ancient, technology wise

(kinda like dog years)...

Summary of experience or similar

 

You can't go back in time,

or can you?

gDrug's YouTube makes money

on old TV shows,

concerts, etc

and people put up stuff,

making that available,

but can't get some original stuff you recorded

back down, without paying for YouTube Premium?

and they claim not to be Evil?

As in Do No Harm?

 

So gDrug basically steals it from original content

creators?

 

Not that we get a lot of hits,

make them a lot of advertising money,

and other gDrug gMoney

issues...

Did you archive those?

or think BlackBoard

Possibly making it easier for others to cheat?

 

What about your thesis project?

Publish that, and hope nobody

besides thesis committee
