on the way out the other weekend,
with problems mentioned on the way back,
not sure about it, didn't have the usual
Library of Congress title page, even much
on category, price, etc, just
a QRCode and AdaFoxBooks.com
so not sure what i would be getting
but someone seemed to like it nearby
and few other comments (compared to last time),
someone had gone in next door, beforehand,
and likely someone lives above the stores
nearby, even a plant? Get some publicity,
or something, a very early trip out,
seeing the moon and sunrise in interesting places,
mostly behind me, though, stopping for photos,
and almost a full moon, iirc, not sure
how to tell if full or not...
And missed some meteor shower/
aurora special event with the sun flare
or something happening to coincide
with the 105F heat index and a court
day, iirc, so not a lot of extra time
to go look, but happening here
instead of having to go to Alaska/
north pole sort of things,
so would have been good to make the time,
and then there is city life and light
pollution, noticing again that
South Arlington W&OD is not lit up,
and safety problems, while North
to East Falls Church and along Custis
likely is, haven't ridden that part in the
dark much, so punting for now...
But while waiting on a Pest short notice,
got the notice about 1300p and started
0900a-1700p the next day,
but a late office day,
so if they came in early,

even probably missing someone

in the hallways, well over what residents are
required to run 72F or so, not A/C at all
it seems and no windows to open unlike
older places with windows and stairwells
dark halls and no lights, except emergency
but those go out after a while, if power out
for a while...
But back to the book, lost of regression,
and set in the future, science fiction,
a novel? some biking, a spoiling thing,
writeup, so be forewarned, if want to read
it fresh, stop now, and maybe read this
later if you can get your hands on a copy,
a debut author/ novel, and one more in the
works, turns out Ada Fox is the Author's name,
a letter different than AdaBox, and AdaFruit

City life and getting out on a bike,

what volume, a hex filling instead
of pure/ solid filament, saving

telling of the before time, when things
were much better, instead of scavenging,
which she spends her time fixing things,
and going to Carnival, a vice / lure
into the city type thing,
with performers, and merchants, traders,
and caravans, horse driven,
while riding empty streets tar/ blacktop
and up into the mountains, she's Italian,
and knows/ loves food, so some escapism
there i guess, and how to fix,
figure out stuff, and solar panels,
charging old batteries, AAA, C, etc
fixing fans, and better than eBike
lithium, power cells, shopping is
kinda central, camping, and gets
into travel, she's off with a caravan
looking for the space radio dish,
heard of and wants to find, to send
a message, to those that left,
lots of people escaped the Earth,
leaving a mess, and knowledge gap(s),
even what was left behind,
broken and taken for other things...
She learns to horse back ride,
has attractive guide(s),
rich Sherpas, with walking sticks,
adornment and money, copper, silver,
no numbers, maybe too complicated,
and just metal, copper likely being
shortage item, silver and gold,
She gets to Snow, given the heat,
and up the mountains, Italian Alps?
Trying to go to London to a library,
such archaic (sp?) things
sails, across the channel, to WasteLand,
nobody lives there, too cool,
evacuated? and just reading maps,
finding them, and paper book(s)
with the migration, and an old
Celestine Prophesy (sp?) type
feel to it, not sure...
Camping skills, travel, modes of travel
and how things work, a female geek of sorts,
as works/ owns a repair/ trading, fixit shop,
and tutored by an old Asian man
finding a shape and means resistance,
China has taken over, and Americas
things just grow, and treed over,
finding passage and rather G/PG rating,
storms, swimming, and working the ship,
she comes of age a bit too,
and discovers discrimination for being a
Roma? Romanari? or similar, Italian?
without the Italy federal government,
fascism i guess left?
But looking up, the caravan guy,
a blond and lots of focus on hair
and adornment, i guess things of
the age, of the writer and audience?
make it a teen cult type thing?
or skills for females,
why did a fan stop working,
did it not turn on,
tell me the history of it?
and other things, power plugs,
storage, and cooling on cement,
living above a store, row house like,
key under the mat, and leaving,
having to travel, for a dream,
and seeking in her own way, i guess,
not religion but technology and space...
Radio telescopes of that variety are/
were only in a few places in the world
and she goes looking, only to have to
keep looking and getting to former America(s),
after learning sailing the Atlantic,
further going west to the old California?
and some other named places, typical of
fantasy, made up names, likely a joke
an inside one, with no clue sheets,
only kids trading stories and keeping
it secret against adults, those not cool/
kewl, etc, i guess...
But vessel types,
and even gets into engine repair,
almost adopted by some, ships captain,
swim to a missed boat, and rescued,
taking watch, Land Ho(e) (sp?)
given a horse, helping with things,
besides becoming a hero, knowing
what to do when things aren't right,
like LifeBoats, and plans for Evacuation,
going back for missing crew, trapped
and think under pressure, breaking
a lock/ gates to get the crew out,
and all aboard plans,
earning help getting further, as she's
in a night shirt woken by the storm/
problems with the boat, flooding,
taking on water from the side,
floors wet, etc...
Her money sewn into a dress she
didn't bring, gold coins like
and travel safety, plus haggling
romance, and more escapism, etc...
So consider finding it,
likely available online, for $16 or so,
the August sale has finished,
maybe she will get past,
self publishing,
even if done well,
i found no typos typically i find some
but also not that critical,
my mood hopefully not overshadowing
her writing and creativity,
and considering looking out for her next,
in pipeline, started, named, and less
SciFi more espionage, thriller,
and DC Genre, forget the exact name,
have to look it up,
but takes more energy than i've got,
at the moment and in general,
so UpLoad (Beam Me Up Scotty?)
and see what happens...
