Introduction/Definition/etc

Lidl selling a SilverCrest Bread Machine

3Lb loaf max, is says on the app,

not on the box that i saw,

two paddles/ stirring,

and seems to be a double 1.5 Lb

design, next to each other,

combined pot/pan...

But you can program your own settings,

under Home Made or similar, last menu

item...

Body

Original Text

First visit to Lidl saw the BreadMachine,

at $70 or so, might be worth it,

despite three other machines,

they only work for 100 or so bakes,

iirc, and two were thrift store with

unknown uses, one with a spill

likely a fire risk,

so take apart,

and learn from

BlackAndDeckerBreadMaker2019

BlackAndDeckerRiceCooker2019

BreadMan

found the BreadMan book

at another thrift store,

getting parts for these things

even finding them after the

first new, sale/ clearance

$40 or so

HamiltonBeachBreadMaker2019

so was trolling for similar

when into PressureCookers,

the pans/ pots are costing more

new than the whole machine

at thrift stores, so finding a match

make model/ year and win

in extra parts, especially as

with many devices waiting til

it fails so i can take apart,

may never got back together,

but learn something,

and Arduino, RPi controls,

with high power, and other

modifications like a FrankenB(/M)aker

high end stuff exists to mix and cook,

but not really available,

price wise, programming with

smart phones seems to be best

so a BlueTooth/ WiFi connection,

stored recipes,

firmware, cooking updates,

like check me,

smoke sensors before fire alarm,

and other Kill/ TweetAWatt/

power consumption,

especially if ever on solar/

battery power,

like SVDelos2018

3D Printing is similar in a hood,

making noise on water,

carries across a quiet anchorage

lake/ bay, so enclosure(s),

off the boat for a bit, go to shore,

leave running, but waves and

mechanical, like a pot on the stove

while underway and their problems

with washing diapers while sailing

a big gyroscope,

bread dough may be easier,

assuming doesn't overflow,

lopsided not as much of a problem,

imnsho...

So open up after

PestProblems2021

the maintenance and contractor

to be more specific,

and DishWash the pot/pan

missing the paddle(s), stirring

and there are two on this

two holes/ axles through the pot,

and turns out want to be oriented

a certain way, 180 degrees,

see if can turn them

Reading instructions while baking,

so there was a heat first and

wash again to perhaps fix/ fin

the non stick coating,

hoping the DishWasher did that part

for me, as the heated dry may have

done that, but cooking off any

mill scale/ finishing/ impurities,

and other issues, to be learned,

some other coating system

and other things to learn...

What to Bake First?

Libby's PumpKin Bread Kit

Double 3 Lb 8 Oz or so kit,

a can inside, and

dry: sugar flour, spices, etc

thought would be two kits,

but have to halve it yourself

or risk in this case overflow,

which i wasn't willing to do

lest i have another one

that may be a fire hazard,

and take apart, this new one

too expensive for that,

and other things to learn...

Wants

Oil,

Eggs (Large, only have Medium)

water

Quick Sweet Bread

so Rapid baking, and Quick

in baking usually means

Baking Powder/ Soda

Not Yeast, so different types

of kneading, rising time,

2 rising times, and another

kneading, not necessary

without Yeast, and total bake

time of 1-2 hours,

instead of 3+ for a big loaf,

and Lbs?

instructions didn't include

Bread machine

only after starting at one thing,

changed to another mid stream,

Looking up Online,

BreadDad.com

said it was a quick bread,

and some suggestions,

but a Digital CopyRight Rights

or similar instead of

CopyLeft so problems

recommending him,

he's out for money,

or something, on recipes

and stuff largely done

as hobby, so

Not Recommended...

guessed middle range,

2.5 Lbs of the device

3 maximum

it's a bigger machine,

small 1 and 1.5 Lb

personal machines

and like larger

PressureCookers

maybe IceCreamMachines

difficulty filling it,

have to have big batches,

as it doesn't/ might not work

otherwise...

Some HeadRoom required

not wanting to over flow,

a mix over 3 lbs

when resulting loaf,

and have to check

can weight, no Net Weight,

and what i could cut back on?

rises in the middle,

might have worked,

but not worth trying,

two tries with different

settings,

not exact measurements,

oil a little over,

eggs less than and then

water cold to start,

Yeast wants warm water

lest you kill the MicroBiology

and then have flat breads,

or similar,

Cake was one possible setting

to consider

and eventually reading more

rapidness is an option on a lot

of stuff so not all Rapid one setting

but across the rest,

rush mode, maybe a better name,

Quick conflicts with QuickBreads,

i.e. chemical leavening,

not MicroBiological

though a chemist would tell you

it all boils down to chemistry,

even biology, but then a lot

of alchemy and waving of hands,

on explaining it, or not understanding

the responses, old wounds there,

i guess...

So about an hour wait time,

good gaming time, or TV Watching,

maybe laundry eventually

Worried about it rotating itself off

the oily countertop where the

AldiAmbianoInductionStoveTop2021

just was, splatter some from cooking

and needs grease/ oil removal

like SimpleGreen, but not near food,

so learning what cleaning agents

can be used in the kitchen,

and what to avoid might help,

(Plus populating above...)

What's Missing?

What Can Be Found?

What Can Not Be Found?

How To Analyze?

Lenses

Noob

A machine makes bread?

Not just dispensing like a vending

machine?

Kids

An EZBakeOven it's not...

High power,

strong motors,

heavy weights,

properly supervised

might be good,

but age, disAbility,

hunger levels,

curiosity, etc.

for safety may matter,

Parental SuperVision,

etc...

Dis/Dys

Aut

You said Ought?

Don't Should on me...

Lexic

I aint reading no stinking manual(s)...

RTFM, or can't use it...

Celiac/GlutenFree

I'm guessing this may be way

to learn how to make your own,

especially starting out...

DiaBetic

Sugar substitutes may be a problem

with Yeast, they might be picky,

Sweeteners mentioned,

so do some recipe learning...

Probably already know from

store bought stuff...

LactoseIntollerant

Might get away without milk in stuff,

depends upon recipe, choose another,

maybe LactoVegan?

OCD

Not clean enough,

not rising,

not working,

etc

Professionals

 Chefs

 why mess with a machine

not rated for commercial use?

slumming it at home?

Bridging/ CrossOver Artist?

GeneralPublic

Bread may be some thing

you buy, but going to a hardware

store asking for bread, might

end up with a machine,

not this one likely,

as likely Lidl only,

so NoBreadForYou,

or similar BreadNazi response...

Assumptions

Learning good,

the hard way less fun,

no?

Gadgets generally enjoyed,

but space limitations,

power, simplicity,

and accessibility,

need a machine as can't

tend to a bend down oven?

etc...

Time Limits

3-4 hour max mix, rise,

mix, bake cycle?

keep warm and delayed start

options though oddly time of day,

not number of hours so one

instruction had an example

12 Noon

7 pm want bread with dinner

somehow didn't subtract out time

to bake?

(find page reference

and pdf of instruction booklet/

recipe, not found on Lidl.com

search by IAN number

anything i've bought yet...

Book Data

might mention two booklets

machine came with

Conclusion

Summary of experience or similar

Seems good, not sure when

all is said and done if worth the

$70 dollars, for yet another

bread machine, but with

Stim3 seemed to be worth it,

limited availability, new store trying,

and some sort of mood elevation

for trying a new machine,

the program your own settings

is nice, but like pressure cookers

might end up being best going

with more expensive at first

and less counter clutter,

storage requirements, etc...

in the end...

Discussion

A place for feedback on the page presented

What devices have helped you cook?

Gone Amish and all by hand?

How are you reading this then?

Required school reading based on

TheShortOfIt

and the Amish School shootings too?

well, check history, a school shooting

was way before, and lots of casualties,

not glorifying, but look into before

Columbine, search massacre

or similar, and do some research,

even if on paper, which would be slow,

getting into archives, etc...

What breads do you like?

can you tolerate non GlutenFree?

Would the motors handle Masa?

corn meal? and heavier doughs?

what motor differences are there

in mixers, blenders, stirring,

puree, amperage/ Watts?

Is 800 Watts enough?

mostly heating element(s)?

or motors for agitating things too?

How to conserve?

Tried Making Yogurt?

Jams?

Cakes?

other things?

Can the overlap between

PressureCooker

BreadMaker

and other devices

induction stovetop,

Ovens2019

and similar be merged?

How about Smart Kitchen Devices?

Too Expensive?

Too finickey

Too not GrandMa friendly?

Not in MY Kitchen!

Chases out with a skillet...
