MarchMadnessPartDeux
Introduction/Definition/etc
Given the MetroAccess and Metro issues,
and recurring theme of the seasonal insanity
during the Spring (meteorological spring was March 1)
can we have some planned insanity instead
of likely "death by cop"/security guards?

Body
So after spending hours waiting in the wind and cold at the
courthouse doing some paperwork, officers / sherriffs
were polite and kind, what appeared to be people
released (people w/o jackets??) from jail/ detention center
on Thursdays making room for the Friday and Saturday/
weekendrush of new entries/ convicts, come to
DC (would have been a good biking day???)
to hear about Pentagon shootings,
which is getting a little more out of hand...
I'm not one to advocate violence.
Someone has a beef with Defense,
with the Holocaust Museum, and
why take it out on the guards?
"Death by cop"/ security / fed
protective services, whatever,
what the F**** is the point?
Get help people!
I would have taken my self out
over a decade ago, and decided
not to, and life got better, not great,
stuff still sucks, I can't get rid of the
pain of my father passing badly
this week, but I'm not taking it out
on security people, probably paid
badly, and doing their duty/ jobs,
[un?]like the hospital workers who
did not show up at the DC hospital
where 22 were fired for not risking
their lives coming in during the
winter storms...
March 4, years ago, we (OOOFC/
OOOFxCo) had a consumer conference
at the local Latter Day Saints (aka Mormon)
Ward building which became the starting
point for the two other consumer run
drop in centers (though Reston seems
to have been starting before that,
OurPlaceFC -> CWC people met
during lunch and started/ forming/
reforming/ worked on it. Others were
made aware of the consumer drop
in movement and other consumer driven initiatives
from speakers coming in round the area...
Anyway, some madness (March Madness
is a basketball tournament/ competition
like the playoffs... Or whatever, i'm not that
much into sports spectating, so can't really
get a good analogy...
I can however, having been stranded by
MetroRail coming back when the above
ground stations were closed and
people not taken out of the rail system
in a graceful shutdown, and ending
up stranded (again) with station manager
saying I should have known (MetroAccess
was "suspended" and only life saving
trips performed 8a - 12 noon, but
other systems were running for a long
time after, I'm just coming back into
town from hospital visit (Dad),
got a Red Line Train, the last,
and then stuck at L'Enfant
Plaza, left to talk with others on the
platform try sharing a cab to Crystal
City, the guy with some money,
gets a hotel room where we thought
there might have been cabs waiting
(no luck, like fly trap paper, going to a
hotel, selling him a $200 room, I can't
afford that, and walk the 395 bridge with
feet that still hurt year+ later after
a taxi MetroAccess sends runs over
my feet, and taxi driver wants me
to stand up and pretend it didn't happen,
I'm going to a homeless center (Lamb Ctr)
and so I'm not human enough, and
he lies saying I didn't pay the $2.50 fare,
to the officer which sides with the driver
(insurance and/or race related?)
later police station personnel on a visit
to get the report, feet still damage,
have to get to the station, but they discount
my experience (and no real report
made, guess "serve and protect" only goes
as far as the white picket fences of the
rich people???)...
So what does this have to do with
March Madness and the illusion to
S.H. Cho? I get frustrated,
have lost my father this week,
people treating me like shit,
repeatedly and systematically,
organizationally (NVRPO NL #2.pdf
being another insult to the years of
consumer efforts, no credit given the people
who made it possible, Shawn not
listed on the Trillium /PW Drop In Center,
PRS Aspergers activities and LMEC
calendars are the only real content,
and http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/csb/region/
has nothing to do with the original
$3.02 milllion dollars, RRWG not even
mentioned, and the newsletter/ website
stolen, along with the hopes and dreams
of people, some no longer with us, died,
and disappointed, but we still pay a Ph.D.
not selected by the people and
hurting people that have little to no
services, so go figure why stuff like
this happens...)
Let me repeat, I'm not violent...
I'm sick and disabled, and the services
and people who should be helping,
don't help me, they hurt me,
but I'm not repeating that cycle
of emotional violence, economic
discrimination, etc upon others,
and if you can't see that, get
some perspective from others,
and chill out people... Spring,
or what people normally think of
as Spring is almost here, trees,
birds, bees (aka
http://search.cpan.org/~mschwern/Sex-0.69/Sex.pm),
flowers, (taxes, well, can't do
much about that... there is a bad joke
about death and taxes in here somewhere)
but better days may well be ahead,
so don't do something stupid and
kill people who probably
haven't done anything to you...
Not that violence hasn't gone
the other way (Nov 13 shooting/
killing an unarmed former special
forces unarmed man, shot
through a car window, only reported
issue as a complaint about picking
flowers, police cremate the body
and send the bill to the estate...
see Washington Post round that time...)
And $1.5 million dollars settled for a human life
(23? yo woman named McIntosh?)
killed by a police officer blowing through
a stop to a shoplifting call,..
It seems like open season on MH/
crazies, and the new attorney
general's bias against MH/MI
may be part of the reason,
would not get to court, given
the new administration's
Red State mentality/
"mentalism"...
But I rant. This is how I deal
with my frustrations now.
Lawyers may be a better
way of dealing with stuff,
than violence. ObamaCare
and other disappointments
abound as people probably
get foreclosed, dying (my father
could have learned/ I could have
learned about hospice ahead of
time, but somehow a nurse and docs
on ICU are dealing with death
instead of messing up the house,
and memories of a likely unhappy
marriage (some domestic abuse likely,
given my experiences witnessed...)
But "until death do us part" does
not mean you can kill your spouse,
humiliate, ridicule, bicker,
nag to death, etc,
gay or straight (DC Homosexuals
marrying, etc).
It's a strange, strange world,
in a strange, strange land (Heinlein?),
but that doesn't suspend all normal
laws/ rules/ kindnesses...
