So seems i might say (write?)

something about the weekend

 

Hot on SaturDay

forecast 90F

but still tried the 50 mile commute

out to Reston and

into DC to volunteer

last week failed as

EBT card stopped working at

whole Foods in Vienna

after likely multiple staff cancellations

at different registers,

locking it up,

 

apparently didn't like looking up

Oat based LifeWay kefir

new and at $8

after getting some lunch meat

cheese, and other stuff,

and asked about oat based

WeetaBix

(not found)

 

But this time similar woman at checkout

the Oat based LifeWay kefir

scanned

the card thing fell apart as i swiped

so had to get that part and just put

up on the counter like for them to

put back together, look at why it

coming apart, etc...

All while pulling out in front of

a shopping cart so they didn't

run over the black u shaped part

and break it

 

and some shopping at the Reston

Lake Anne farmers market

arrived early before start

some comments on the mini lake

a corner parking spot nearly full of water,

which concerned me less than

steam/ hot air coming up out of the drains...

 

and eventually bought some tokens

chips, and baklava

and paid the difference

as short last time, $7.50 and paid $6

which was ok with her but some old

guy (husband/ father? red state harasser?)

claiming i owed...

 

But did the math and came back,

adding to the $8

in tokens another $2 and don't get change

back so

7.50 x2 = $15

paid $16 total over two weekends

and tried tipping the musicians with matching

fruit and veg, the table had said

can do what ever i want with them,

and seemed a worthy cause,

collecting (not hoarding)

some from different places

and difficult carrying heavy fruits and veg

back so many miles,

some thoughts of buying and eating

a cantaloupe (sp?)/honeydew/ melon

having to

weigh

scoop out the inside seed

and disposing of those parts

then need to pee,

like CocoNuts around Columbia Pike

sold for water, and cold

these room temperature

and getting warmer,

would be better cold, imnsho

but will see...

 

I mentioned i'd gotten a Herndon

market token and maybe check

which, but something came up

and they still ask for phone number,

like old credit card transactions

but different because we are poor?

another place has said don't we know him,

and yet again AnnanDale

didn't have the older sheets where it was

before and just go there at closing at 12 noon

and rang the cow bell end of market

sales,

had to walk through the park

as no biking on natural trails,

but saw an accordion (sp?) rolly

which actually looks like it's made

to have live passengers,

unlike a lot of others used that way,

with more risk,

seats and seat belts?

not sure about brakes, and other

controls for the operator,

i went into the bathroom to wash my

hands and throw away a set of small

bags left on the market parking lot,

saving a hopefully clean enough

Ziploc (tm elsewhere) one for myself, as ripped out

one used for a wallet and receipts

carrier...

 

Anyways,

Hot and had had some exercise

recently, previous week(s)

but needed to pickup warehouse

bought bike supplies i'd ordered

weeks before and came in,

trying to meet up with the parts person

at a SunDay clinic but no luck last time(s)

 

I did make it to a small market in Adams Morgan

(in the triangle across from City Bikes

couple blocks from WABA office)

and asked for the Market master

likely around closing near noon,

Conclusion

 

Summary of experience or similar

 

On the way out

a treat seeing a brown bunny

 

A hot day, volunteering

brought some FunPops (tm elsewhere)

these the Harris Teeter varieties)

ate 3 of those

and gave away 2

started eating the baklava

one of 3 small pieces

without weighing, thinking same as

before, but later when

hit the hill at Rosslyn

didn't have any nor the container,

had dropped them at WholeFoods,

seeing and hearing, and picked back up,

dry eating without liquid

never took a break, arriving after start,

and kept going,

worked on my own,

put on brake pads just got,

and finally had back brakes

(~ 75% of braking power is front)

but some additional help stopping,

especially in City traffic,

less Fred FlintStone stops...)

and taking off bags,

wiping up some of the accumulated

dust/road grime inside

where i normally can't get to easily

and see what was clicking,

strumming the spokes...

likely the Lidl bags without hoops...

packing differences

 

 

Got the bike supplies, parts,

 

and upon return saw some deer,

(including young fawn(s)?)

in a surprising place

near but not on the trail...

 

Cramped up a little

but mostly just thirsty and tired,

showered and down,

at a family size lasagna

meal,  easily,

and trying to cool off

and rest,

staying in SunDay,

still kind of down/ tired...
