Introduction/Definition/etc
So MosaicFarmersMarket2018
has moved/ changed,
and the old place Mosaic
got another market,
while Central moved one to
Marshall High School
along Rt7 before Tyson's Corner
going outbound...
Body
Original Text
Went looking for the market,
(as relatively good weather,
besides pollen maxed out at 12 of 12,
not a lot of miles recently,
and Aldi's were closed for Easter?)
heard from their emails that it moved,
but learned on site from
Twin Springs Fruit Farm,
the first big vendor there,
on the right, upon entrance,
at the front of the school
parking lot. turn around area,
near the highway/ Rt 7
that FreshFarms took over
that location, so there is a market,
and TSFF has a stall there too,
afaict, maybe a split,
same day, found articles later,
weeks, short notice, 3 weeks or so
and Central was out,
FreshFarms was in,
so maybe go see that too?
Fuel the ride over with stuff
from the new market,
and some things found at
the other location...
But that requires money
and since
Ambiano6Qt4In1MultiCooker2019
and other stuff,
in extremely short supply...
Besides the usual dog bones,
this market allows dogs,
contrary to the usual
Fairfax County hosted market rules/
laws?)
prepared foods like BBQ,
a few bakeries,
a Rum Cake guy on the other end,
they make without too
(but you have to ask/call ahead
which isn't really what it's about for me,
not practical...)
A maple syrup seller,
generally difficult to find,
but i'm kinda off sugars,
so annoying, to find so late,
Vienna's market
(one i don't go to anymore,
and the head market master lady
since died
possibly written up here, iirc
find link?
)
had an Amish (stricter, horse and buggy, not electricity)/
Mennonite (black cars, electronic registers,
etc) vendor that sold maple syrup
too...
Found an Austrian strudel place
that also sells flours
(including spelt, etc)
from their Pennsylvania supplier(s),
so I may go try that sometime...
I talked of
BreadAloneByDanielAndJudithBlahnik2019
and the third generation mason
discovered after a man owning an old building
the bakery (french name used?)
with all the other historic building removed
doing an urban renewal,
decided he had to make it a bakery again
to save the building, so found the plack
mason heritage, and rebuilt it...
from the author traveling to the
EU (France?) who
brought the mason to America
(had to get a passport, etc)
built an oven, (two actually,
bakery work and
back of the baker's home)
I wore bunny ears ala
BadBunny2019
Blew the Train Whistle
but no clown noses
(passe, difficult to find,
only had red, and black missed
opportunities for buying Halloween time
dog ate my homework type excuses...)
I generally tried having some fun,
before back into heavy Rt7 traffic,
probably a lot less than rush hour,
backed up, and construction,
but whatever, don't have to go there
that time(s), luckily...
But sadly, on my way out,
saw a meat vendor
near the entrance/exit
who sold rabbit
aka bunny meat on Easter,
while I had seen a live bunny
much earlier on the trail,
fairly happily munching away,
you have to go very early
(first light? preDawn),
be quiet, know where to look,
but not tell others, etc...
The real live bunnies must have been
running scared recently
as all the younger(/est) kids
probably thinking
they are chocolate/carob
Easter bunnies you can eat...

Trail Woman Fell
A woman wearing a Marshall t shirt,
i stopped, turned around,
and asked for directinos,
she, a pedestrian on the trail
went to the side worn part, off
the asphalt, and tripped going back up
onto the asphalt trail,
I asked if she was ok, and she said
she was, i guess talking and giving
directions is like the old Republican
joke, can't do two things at once,
probably back to Gerald Ford
and tripping near Air Force
One's helicopter...
Nice enough woman,
but i should probably
try not to talk to people,
or stop briefly?
and/or find a place to turn off,
near a big hill, and blocking the trail
a bit, if coming fast down,
some peak rush hour/usage times,
and needed directions
a couple of times, as don't
know street names as well,
as locals...
(didn't fit in stream of consciousness
as well, in original freewriting like
style drivel...)
What's Missing?
petting zoos of bunnies
beside bunny mills
kind of like puppy mills...
What Can Be Found?
lots of ways to spend money
given a free market bag,
when i asked
happened to need something to put
the devices and other stuff falling thru
old(er) bike shorts that were
losing their elastic...
EdibileDC magazine
high end EtOH, etc
also had to ask,
not getting warm fuzzies
from the market master table,
but one (older than H.S.? age kid(s)
at least acknowledged me,
to start, so I didn't have to stand there
waiting, as much...)
For some reason I thought the
kids were high school age and did
drivers ed, which would go residential
before high speed Rt7, at least back
in the day, probably do commercial,
summer school classes, instead,
and do AP, IB, course heavy loads...
What Can Not Be Found?
I didn't pick up a reference card
giving hours (+dates) of their markets
a good safe low traffic back way
to get there from the
WODAppIdear2018
trail
How To Analyze?
Lenses
Neighbors
I guess those living close by,
some apartments in the back,
and high rises,
Whole Foods
Trader Joe's
and other places,
high end stores,
but used to be a farm stand
where I got my first Train Whistle,
now broken, fallen over the years
of use, and
FreeMan's Museum in Vienna
has one, similar but different,
sounds a little different,
stamped with Vienna on it,
and a plywood like mouthpiece
non removable, and all difficult to clean,
so no sharing, and have to learn to boil
it carefully, use wipes, etc,
e,g. dropped in a bathroom,
generally on the floor,
placed (mouthpiece out)
in a bike helmet, etc...
About $10 by the time
you get out of the candy isle
(penny candy but not penny prices,
or for sugar intolerant, bottle of water,
$1-2 or so)
UnsolicitedAdvice: You may want to limit
the number of extraneous/unnecessary toots/
whistles, as it may drive you nuts...
and/or free time, make as much noise
as you want, outside, play time, etc
Noobs
Markets, this one,
managed by Central
and other oddities
Poor
Approaches to Tyson's Corner
may be income restricted
as have to drive/ take a bus,
and other problems
of mass money,
and conspicuous consumption...
Assumptions
More markets are good
A clear/clean history of what happened,
might be in order?
Didn't take food stamps/EBT,
mismanaged?
other problems?
Just plain nasty too many times?
Time Limits
Seasonal, some vendor changes,
and some limits in weather,
and what produce, etc is available,
happens, and can be found online,
i guess, of what fruits/ vegetables,
and seasonal stuff is available.
Knife sharpening vendor there,
but not as friendly, it tired waving
to a non response, afaict/ iirc...
maybe Elmer Fudds were looking
for ways to skin a rabbit?

Conclusion
Summary of experience or similar
So been there, done some of that,
would need a better way in and out,
as say bought grains,
in the 5 pound bags
(as opposed to 2 pound),
several varieties to try (Spelt, etc)
and would have hills and traffic to contend
with getting in and out, plus heavy,
hot, warm, wet, etc...
