Introduction
This is an experimental Wiki for the Northern Virginia Regional Recovery Workgroup.
Group feedback during the website section of the proposal writing mentioned a Wiki, so this is one to experiment, learn while doing, gather feedback, use for planning, and make collaborative decisions on how to continue with the website development based on feedback.
Jerry originally had some concerns about Wiki being difficult to edit for the novice, but found the PBWiki may be an easy enough way to start.
Note: This free pbwiki is limited in disk space, features (sometimes called crippleware) and contains ads but can get us started until we can register a domain and get hosting, which likely requires money, organization, effort and community involvement.
So far we have (in a menu and news structure):
FrontPage/Home the start of this introduction and approximately 95 more pages.
Proposal introduction and final files uploaded
(please review any you are in, edit as necessary, add your pics and download any you want to keep as they are using a lot of our 12.5 MB free file disk space)
with our own David O'Brien Memorial, Agape's Russell Woodman and pet therapists Oreo and Cinnamon.
Starting a process for inclusion to this website and hoping for a better way of supporting people with news like grief resources...
Plans include:
cleanup front page
learning wiki for use on a future [NoVAPeers.org] website
getting feedback to see what people think of editing and using a wiki for collaboratively creating group documents for progress, planning and reporting
putting up drafts of the Proposal edited out for later use ;-)
and filling in the shell proposal Service Work groups pages
David, Jerry, Ray, Mary Ann, Sharon, Bill, Doug and all other 28+ members who wish to have them for learning, sandbox editing, personal stories, creativity, etc.
share with a group, talk back, etc.
This might be used for...
each person's personal definition of recovery, commenting on group process, individual artwork, interests, issues, discussions, startups and projects...
user accounts, accessibility checks, browser experiences,
considering domain registration services, hosting options and/or purchasing upgrades)?
website design with requirements from each of the project service areas to include
a menu structure, components, site map and proper web design
Presenting the website with access to an
internet connection and computer projector at the Institute to show RRWG users this pbwiki and a little wiki training.
