Jerry was a late arrival again with transportation issues...

Missed input on additions to the minutes... Not well represented, but there is this blog ;-}

Interviewing applicants in process...

Reserving a location for the conference. Later heard it was May 31st at GMU?

Around Memorial Day weekend??? :-{

Really need to discuss the interactions amongst the subgroups... What information is shared? How is it shared? By whom? What information is not shared and why? Etc...

Awareness of the lack of accessibility in the Institute meeting space increased? ;-}

Meeting after the meeting was with whom? What hat(s)? Analogy to Rally meetings afterward? Unless someone is actually wearing a hat &/or uniform, who's whom? What's what? Why's why? What?

Some moving of meeting location to a larger space and room prep for next meeting as well.

Jerry attended a meeting before the RRWG Exec Comm met with the CSB Execs.

Discussion of the position, possibility of consumer/survivors discussing their restraint experiences in an interview, number of people who have applied, creating an interviewing panel, process issues, state hiring practices, possible uniform hiring process within the RRWG positions, etc.

Some planning of the kickoff event like trying to get a place/site/venue scheduled early, associated cost & contraints, timeframe (maybe May?), contents of the event (tracks for providers, consumers/survivors, family, meeting and interacting between 'camps'), actual restraints being displayed (with clear warnings to those who wish not to see any such things) plus showing the way many would like it to be, perhaps similar to the Living Room crisis centers.

Lynn mentioned on site trainings in facilities.

Open Mike ideas used in the Empowered for a Change event, reasons behind that idea (consumer presenters tired, show that peers are leading this, you can too, etc) and suggestions for improvement plus smaller less traumatic groups where individuals can share experiences without it being overwhelming in front of the large group of maybe 200-250 people.

Quiet areas for people to calm and collect themselves as refuge from a stressful topic.

Jerry was a late arrival (with transportation issues) at this subgroup meeting which seemed more like b****ing (what is the clinical term?) than collaboration and inclusiveness...

Addendum: Some people were sick and probably worried about that among other large group issues and conflicts.

Wonderful handouts left from Lynn about training on PTSD seekingsafety.org by Najavits.

Bill had some handouts?, which Jerry did not receive, possibly due to limited copies...

Group worked on the Draft Regional Community Support Center Program Director position description.

Next meeting to discuss ideas for the support center.

NEW INFO: State funds transfered to Institute without RRWG general knowledge which brings up all sorts of consumer directed and process issues...
