Body
Jerry further empowered himself at the SteeringCommittee (read RRWG parental units and purse string holders ;-} ) and unofficially facilitated discussion (including the housing line item) while one of the RRWG cotreasurers was vacationing (and later returned) and the other remained largely silent...
Most budget items were rubber stamped (as previously discussed) and forwarded to the state for a two week consideration and further delay. LIPOS and other earmarks / pork were noticed instead of requiring the same process as the RecoveryApplication, while WebsiteProposedFiscalUpdates were ignored as are most non union consumers and ConcernedCitizens plus taxpayers in the region...
Several questions were asked during that Steering Committee meeting which are paraphrased, anonomized and partially responded to here into a discussion time line (which might be a good group example to use the wiki for reconstructing from many different perspectives plus collaboratively doing Housing resources for the community):
Q: You're eating
A: Yes, I set up the tables (albiet while limping with a still bad toe) while you got a break before the larger group meeting, also allowing me to keep my big mouth busy for a short time in the meeting beginning and preventing becoming mean later despite the public stoning, taunting, ridicule and disrespect among other such insane relationship issues...
Q: 'Preview of things to come'
A: Or trial by fire? ;-/
Or Coordinator Job Interview Interactive Presentation?
Some introductory remarks about the budget reallocations
Clear disregard for the Website initiative from the 'union'...
A few people mentioned that not everything sent in went into the reallocations, and finance people were missing to discuss it...
Up to Cough
S: 'He's got something'...
A: Yeah a water bottle after eating without it, what did you think?
Consensus on adding an item about funding consumer participation from the RRWG Process line item(s).
...much discussion about:
the $300k housing line item,
local projects like http://Brain-Foundation.org 's April 15th Open House,
OOOFC,
a house in Prince William,
VHDA and other housing entities,
interest,
distribution across the region vs one southern corner, etc
here... ;-}
{Unfortunately, little talk of the other items which total more than the $300k including many traditional programs...}
Suggestion: You would need operating expenses
Partial A: how many consumers are excluded from 'the American Dream' and don't know about houses?
JW Suggestion: How about sending it to PathwayHomes with a MOA to Brain-Foundation.org and a clause about being consumer run (given the extremely short time frame)
...
Pathways: (Something like Couldn't agree on the spot,) ... Details are important
JW : Yeah, I think I am that detail
Group Laughs, some of the only mutually respectful fun in that meeting
JW Statement: {$300k} It doesn't seem like enough for housing in this area
Statement: We're not taking the 4.5% overhead
A: Wanted to lead the group into saying thank you, but not quite sure how without seeming kindergardenish...
Q: Consumer Run? What difference does that make? Just spend the Money
A: Do you live with your parents? ;-} A democratically run group house similar to MainStreetHousing, OxfordHouse.org modified towards MH and many other models like HousingFirst instead of inmates in an institutional forensic psych unit environment is hoped... Others may be hoping for a crisis program, but would you want to live in constant crisis?
Q: You don't understand, they don't want to do that...
A: I know the difference between a MOA and MOU and was leading the group towards motions ('do I hear a motion?') and agreement, when common ground, understanding and even respect were lacking in a meeting process that may have contributed to the death of a friend aka David who was most angry/frustrated/victimized when passed over for several consumer jobs which he had applied and successfully advocated for...
