Introduction/Definition/etc

From song lyrics, to discrimination,

and beyond, another way not to die?

I wrote a phrase that is from song

lyrics, "kill the yellow man"

probably by Bruce Springsteen in the 1970's,

while Vietnam (sp?) and probably Korea were still

in the forefront, well before Iran, Iraq,

Afghanistan, Syria, etc in the Middle East,

the Far East, and whatever that area

is called,..

It's bothered me for a while, but a lot of what

I put up here has ramifications, to me and others,

though as a sort of public creative writing,

it probably shouldn't have that much effect...

Colours

Well I wore yellow for a while, and again today,

meanwhile I had looked up some of the racial slur

that goes into the lyrics, and gets absorbed into

the culture, sometimes subliminally, or similar,

turns out with a brief look at wikipedia,

after a Google search,

"Is the yellow man Asian?"

or similar query,

the yellow peril and other references,

clearly people aren't yellow, except liver disease,

jaudance (sp?), etc, but the terms for brown and black,

and turns out we are all pretty much pink inside,

aliens with green blood, and oddities like too much

B vitamins turning people blue, besides perfusion,

etc blood flow, flushing, etc,

Famous Yellow Biker Lance

Well, Biker Lance, a famous one for

Tour de France (sp? de -> d'?)

and wearing/ winning yellow jerseys,

but I'm not that kind of biker,

most people know that,

if they claim to know me, Lance races, or did,

married/er. engaged well, singer Sheryl Crow,

and later charged with doping, gave up his title,

had ridden with Robin Williams, the comedian,

(find link...)

and some other people, likely leaving them

in the dust too, but whatever...

Mario Andretti (sp?) or similar race car drivers

can probably do things with stock cars,

production models, that others

think impossible, but why risk it?

Especially problematic on public roads

with licenses, lawyers, public safety, etc...

Anyways, another dog problem after

riding along a quiet residential street

near the Foreign Affairs Training Center,

where they are trying to close the little

bike path nearby, and "no dogs allowed"

on that short but linking trail segment,

below Rt50...

July 4th Harassment

Another possibly related problem,

July 4th early afternoon,

with a thunder storm approaching,

yelled at to get off the road,

when by law allowed on most roads

under 50 miles per hour,

last I knew, turning left, but a little

further up, and discover the yelling person

is a moto officer who didn't seem

to like my type, basically motor

vehicle bullying those less than

them, or so it seemed...

"I'm allowed" and "See You In Court",

I think I said, after a while...

Comments from those around are

he's wearing a WABA jersey

(Red White and Blue for the holiday..)

he might know what he's talking about,

She/they tried questioning me

"You've been charged with reckless?"

"You've gotten a ticket for that?"

"You know that for a fact?"

"You got a pass", "we're just on our

way home..." or similar, maybe shift

change, or get the motos off the road

before the storm, similar with bicycles,

as had run over time on that leg of the

journey before, past some troublesome hills,

in the mid day heat and sun, and blockages

with Sherriff's office "are we there yet?"

and others doing full service/ schedule,

I'd imagine given Iwo Jima, and other

Rosslyn vantage points, avoiding the

bridges and other bottlenecks,

congestions of going into DC for fireworks

above, maybe pointed the other way, IDK,

or cancelled, had been busy and not listening

to reports, weather, events, etc...

Besides dealing with difficult, demanding

and demeaning people earlier in the day...

More Chased by Beagle While Biking

Anyways, a beagle named

Rocky decides to go after me

while I'm on the street, on a route

avoiding hills, minding my own

business, and comes out of God knows

where, (they may like the element of surprise)

barking, running, chases me, for about 2 blocks,

the owner almost has Rocky once,

and then gets free again,

"Oh, I give up," "it's his last run"

off leash, she yells as he's running

at me again, "he had his shots",

we'll donate to __" but that doesn't

matter much as she seems

to be enjoying it, laughing as well,

like I'm around to exxercise her

dog, and a show for those listening

in...

Warning Other Cyclists

Later, I tell some bicyclists a couple blocks

up at the bike boulevard, warning,

after a police car passed, maybe going

to the scene, but no lights, didn't flag them

down, but probably should have,

told by the offending woman,

"if you don't like it, to go the other way",

owner/ handler/dog thief?

who clearly doesn't like bicyclists, and

doesn't care much about others,

Effects on Kids and Others?

Later several blocks away

encounter some kids, and parents riding

within sight of a school with kids around,

thinking maybe a dry run, or voting?

why the school was open, Arlington runs

year round, for some reason,

with them closer to a school,

a dog would be more in their face

with smaller bikes, and in a trailer

(bug like screens/ flaps help much?)

while the dog, like most bullies,

probably tries scaring the lunch

boxes away from the kids, almost

got hit by the car in the circle,

possibly taken down/"dispatched"

and taken away by that car...

"he'll be at the pound"

"keep him"....

An electric fence type device

might be too much, as not attended

well enough?, and possibly

electrocutes the dog,

kind of like house arrest, with infirm?

Or continual tazer?

Barking monitoring might be like that,

some dogs/ people learn, some don't

it is further cruelty if the animal and

situation doesn't match the solution...

Well, I was wearing a yellow BTWD

2010 t shirt, and BikeArlington bag under

a safety vest (suggested for early riding),

so maybe they think it's a uniform,

and other complicating factors,

but going back to the problems elsewhere

can probably add up to a lot of bad

feelings, possibly to the car coming

around the circle, and the dog gets

put down / dispatched/ taken to the

pound before hurting a kid,

with the upcoming back to school

season, not that it would be necessary

in a sane world, but not seeing a lot of

sanity in the world to day,

including probably the night before

looking up the

Unabomber

from an upcoming cable show trailer/ad

(probably says UniBomber on this site,

turns out it's UNiversity and Airline

Bomb from the code, probably FBI

that the unsub, profiling shows

type Quantico, or whereever,

news mangled/ labelled it...)

reading that stuff and knowing

there are some really out

there stuff in the world, Woody Harrelson's

(sp??) estranged father was a hit man?

and housed in a supermax prison

like with the unabomber?

and other not in GitMo terrorists,

the quiet prisons, MotherJones

and some liberals like the ACLU

and others probably think is cruel?

7x12 foot human cages in a Wikipedia

article describing a cement bed, table,

chair, sink, toilet, and only out 5x 1 hour per

week, at any time of the night and/or day,

that is when good, and not strapped down

in the equivalent of the hole,

maybe like complaints from the American Taliban,

and other stuff I should probably not read,

might give me and others nightmares,

but so much for reading some parts of

Wikipedia, it's public, and likely true,

just the spin on it might change some over time,

people instead of other animals in cages,

what happened after 9/11 and Rumsfeld,

Ashcroft, and what is happening

these days, more threats, less Miranda

(sp?) rights (one black comedy show

had a pimped/__ out car for a new teen

on the back seat),

overzealous people/orgs claim terror,

then terrorize citizens even more,

not sure I'd want to be treated like that,

and the underlying American

pets in affluent areas are probably

treated better than your average poor,

at home and abroad, and we are the

you, even a smaller beagle type, maybe

shelter rescue, idk, needs to be on leash,

muzzled, and maybe the owner/ handler

fined, idk retrained...

Leash laws have problems when not followed,

a dog doesn't like bikes, an owner/handler/

kid/community is hateful, gangs up and

attack, then the laws and respect,

and community breaks down,

likely based on hatred and discrimination,

instead of anything approaching just...

The offending handler may be

same woman who, in court

harassed on Rt 50, then got

might be needed before it gets

may hurt you and others?

What injuries are common with dog bites

and biker's attacked?

Crash a bike? Broken arm/ wrist,

collarbone, concussion, brain damage,

spinal damage, much less puncture wounds,

even if rabies isn't it, bu like HIV, how current?

Achillies' tendon and other common attack points,

broken ankle, torn ACL, knee and other

likely problems, that can last for a lifetime...

Rabies shots are in the stomach, and

very painful, iirc...

Neighborhood Watch extend into the rental areas?

Or are they somehow second class citizens?

somehow less than the rich people's neighborhood

police coverage, especially if the offender is/

was law enforcement, even if just at the local

level, and planning to move, anyway, taking

care of the dog they could not handle,

along the way by attacking, trying to dispose

of the dog, or a neighbor's/communities,

stalking a biker who knew the law,

that one at least, and caught her in a abusive

situation... She's VATech and other comments

from those around at the Rt50 stop, luckly

didn't last too long, and there were about

three construction projects preventing

other lower traffic speed parallel service road

routes, while timeliness with a storm

and rental time limits may have contributed,

to the rush, cancelling the fireworks, a

transport of prisoner's from the local jail,

released for the holidays, and other escorting

dignitaries out of the area, just going off shift,

and other attitudinal issues,

probably best deal with other ways than writing,

but making some others know this stuff exists,

Biking While Poor, and other discriminatory

practices, rental bikes arenot taken as seriously,

tourists only, and inexperienced bikers

because they don't spend lots on expensive

racing bikes like Lance, former DC Mayor

Fenty? (missing golden triatholon bike

from developers?)

And good old Yellow Jerseys are the Tour D'

France (TdF) colours, or just the team?
