over a week before that,
call up SafeLinkWireLess
(some history with them:

off of TracFone
which i've bought

Checking online it seems they dumped
me out of their system,
possibly giving me some service time
and the low usage of voice
and didn't know for a year
to two years...
I got no update your information
renewal information/ requests post card(s),
but the phone was still working,
so didn't notice, and was not calling
up dealing with call center attitudes
in getting minutes manually
each month, i was, however,
making sure i made at least one call per month
to keep it active, about all i knew
i had to do...
A few calls into it,
I've applied and approved but there is a wait
time , apparently built into the contract,
a handgun weapon takes less wait time
to get, than a prepaid subsidized phone,
makes you wonder, how much they
value your life, can't make calls,
and how bad the federal contract
is written, that subsidy pays for it,
and they don't really serve the real
needs, of the customers,
or in legal terms (N.B.: IANAL),

I'm informed that I'm not

have to (re) apply
transferred to another department
who isn't helpful at all,
no supervisor
and says i'll have to wait,
(10 business days
=14 calendar days +/i holidays)
though they have a call in customer service
during weekends so how it that not a business day?

but M-F 9-5 and who only does those hours anymore?)
Basically upon a day or so of photo uploading
(odd software btw)
and seeing approved online,
but have to wait 2 more weeks???
when it would just be codes to enter into the existing
phone for service date adding stuff stuff
the 300 some days balance don't mean much,
and did transfer, but they went up to 500 then
1000 minutes / month
losing the phone and you go back to zero
or get 20 or something
assume even after buying another phone
gambling on undocumented stuff
that it's even compatible
you have money to buy airtime cards
when supposed to be free)
but un documented policy and procedures
and lose those too)
a LifeLine service with heat wave,

before and around Father's Day
as i called on Father's Day
stuck in, not risking transit without
at least a phone,
basically they want you to go buy
their TracFone and all roads lead to paying,
when it's supposed to be free/ subsidized
lousy service systematically leads to you paying,
not getting things
and basically denying federal benefits,
which is likely a crime,
(millennial (sp?) ridicule in there too)
the pair of a bad front line person
and bad "manager/supervisor"
and one hand washes the other/
graft/ theft, etc
with sensitive information
PO Box is not what they want,
they want physical address,
and seem to be claiming threatening/harassing
while they are delaying, ridiculing, denying
verify address, web browser demanded
location on for the application web page,
and not giving it that, it bombed,
possibly creating a partial order which blocked
even seeing the other regular one,
needing an Enrollment Code/
order information and
not searchable in the normal way,
to find, Phone Number, SSN

having lost my father,

likely getting new phones too, idk...
logically the call side is different than
the activating and configuring size)
seems like someone else was around
told him to get out of his office,
and was fired, which may have occurred
locally, and/or remotely, and/or somewhere
along the way (my $45+ / month land line
some think is a party line, highly illegal
to tap into someone elses' phone line
basically boosting free service
like some have done with cable,
pre decoder boxes, etc)
tricks:
your wait time is x,
call you back
(already asleep by then)
hold while i do detailed notes,

but they are not doing anything but running out the clock
and annoying you, which you can not be nasty
despite their attitude, incompetence, lying, rudeness,

can you go to the window (i'm about as close to the window,
and have to be on the land line to call you,
otherwise i would be on a non working cell phone,
which is what i'm calling about,
and down in a valley,
the projects don't necessarily have good signal)
not enough signal to make the connection/ change

but not realizing in sardine can type housing,
people overhear your SSN, address,
IMEI numbers, passcodes, etc and
the predators seem to tell everyone
"I want the phone with the password

So weeks without a lifeline
cell phone, safety issues in the heat,
(not as bad as today,
but think of being without
one in this type of weather)
health issues in the heat,
and general safety,
only calls can be made are 911
which likely doesn't help
and if financial ruin with hundreds
to thousands of dollars
in medical/ ambulance/ hospital etc bills
Checking online about myself
the online stuff gave me some
information, to compare with
order number,
use the same phone
what contracts they expected as proof
income is one,
federally subsidized housing another,
but specific forms, Housing is different,
Section 8 Voucher is not Public Housing
and HUD form numbers
copy of your lease,
really wanted, an found last was
from the county of what the subsidy rent was,
which only comes out once a year,
and renewals around then make sense,
but done in fits and starts,
basically some shutdown, and affects all sorts
of stuff, down stream, as it were...
It's been a while,
they have upgraded and smart phones
plans are different, minutes awarded/given
are higher, but complicated,
as had a flip phone and simple startup
and use, but also can not do a lot of things,
it would not auto update/ get the minutes
so every month i would have to call up
and talk to a person, after hold,
getting all the problems,
the system is designed to sell, and
get your minutes in not one of the menu
items, all buy something when it was to be
free, as a SLW not TracFone thing...
Transferring a phone
So online reapplying
i didn't ask for a new phone,
which would have required waiting on
and trying to track down a package in the projects,
read lost/ stolen, held hostage by the office,
delivery people, etc...
But using the existing phone,
(reactivating, which would have been faster
and kept me connected during that time,
if really a LifeLine their solution was to let me die,
instead of a something parallel
here are your service days,
some minutes and an upgrade phone
is on it's way,
but you can only get a certain number of
replacement phones
and in a lifetime, i've gotten one?
bought several, and kept a spare,
flipfone
you need to pay to activate and then transfer
phones, luckily talking about having
an LX and using it for wifi,
but i've got 3 they are small memory,
can not open the case for replaceable parts,
battery for instance,
dropped in the toilet during

and other issues to numerous to mention...
I've forgotten some of the details,
still pissed even this late,

not really playing the system,
but call centers and you might be different
answers, especially to complicated issues,
think IRS, Social Security, MediCare/AID claims,etc...

So it would have been better to apply to another
company SLW might have been one of the few
and others may not be any better,
but at least different, and in response to lousy
service, call center and personnel,
possibly trying something else,
Verizon, which i don't like,
probably has one,
and the 4G LTE likely uses Verizon
some bulk purchase to use their service
on top/underneath
and once committed, stuck with the one company,
again for more abuse/ neglect/ criminal activities
so some voting with your feet/
wallet/ pocketbook might be in order...
1000 Minutes/ 4 Gig data
and trying it,
thought i would lose the minutes per month,
so trying to not waste them,
4Gig is not a lot, one DVD download / month,
compared to wired, and getting say a new
RPi disk image on the run,
new model came out, more CPU etc,
but not had the money to do that,
limited quantities, Target still selling two models back,
with their

before the 4 or whatever the naming convention is now...
Learning to turn on and off the cellular and data,
I'm used to AirPlane Mode
which turns off the emissions (as if on a plane,
and nothing allowed, as might jam and crash the plane)
WiFi is a little different, turning on AirPlaneMode
and you lose WiFi so need to turn that back on,
Volume Off/ Total Silence
Alarm Mode
and one intermediate/ priority only or similar
filtered alarms/ vibrate, etc
charging while asleep and making noise
that wakes you up,
some times of day/ weekday /weekend
type of stuff, say no noise at night,
but naps during the day, waking that way...
Pictures and video seemed to eat 600 MB
taking some photos / wishlist type stuff in stores,
with a cell service on a smart phone,
and it automagically backed up stuff,
not that important,
i would do a certain amount and dump the data
on wifi at home or each store that had public wifi
upload that way, Free Space (in Photos)

Texting the servers/ phone company essentially
and you can get information without even talking to a person
like Usage
and see how much time you have left on the plan,
doing that before and after some action(s)
and see what i used, so as not to run out before the end of the plan
period (read month)
Similar, perhaps to overages and costs with teenagers,
but data intensive and how to pay for stuff,
the free and less somehow,
4G LTE is going out, 5G exists,
some perhaps use it but we were still on 2G
until obsolete, according to those who could make
money on us/ it/ and the 3G upgrade
some services there,
Portability, and have to buy a phone,
and activate it, have it active for a year,
before can change carriers, recouping their investment
in say a reduced price phone,
but with low end phones it makes not sense,
say you can only find a SimpleWireless
or some other prepaid phone,
find a cheap change carrier SIM card,
and use it on something else,
one of my LX phones is not TracFone
labeled, but is underneath,
i think SimpleWireless is a rebranded
TracFone, and maybe another with
merger's acquisitions, etc
Well, had to get into my phone's SIM
as they wanted the SIM number,
and went to get a pin, sewing pin
in another room, while on the call
and picked up another phone
so some delay, overnight/
call back, have to do by 9 pm
for losing another weekend day
of not being able to go out ,
heat and other problems,
safety of calling someone (s)
if there is a problem
besides 911 who are likely not helpful,
expensive and possibly deadly,
besides just answering the door,
finding people and all the other things
people become dependent on cell phones for,
don't think you can find a payphone
anymore, they aren't around, if they exist
they are just the boxes, like call boxes,
and other old bus stop/ shell of a things
(read sad bicycle carcuses (sp?)
(read skeletons + some decaying/rotting
meat left on the bones))
basically stripped and inoperable
usually seen around bus stops, btw)
And the "support" cruelly says to do something
that requires a cell phone, when you are
calling to get yours working,
perhaps thinking we have a work one
too, but too poor, which is why we need the one
LIFELine, in the first place...
No right door
Phone tree is wrong, no menu item for what you want,
all menu items are paid stuff,
simple name change on the tree,
and you have to buy minutes
not find out where my missing free minutes are...
Transferring contacts:
like other phone upgrades,
but going flip phone to smart phone
and not any information on the new phone,
what's the phone number of x?
it's on my phone, i just lookup by name,
and it has the number,
but changing phones and it's not there,
type them all back in,
manually old numbers of people you don't need to talk
to very often, but need badly, say a lawyer,
and then have to look up, some unlisted
(like me)
Some other person wants their numbers from their old
phone but doesn't bring the old phone,
need a uSD card ,

deactivated my old phone, transferring it
and basically dead now,
instead of more parallel works for a month,
while transitioning, and other friendly and safe
type gradual changes...
Chargers for older phones weren't all USB
and requires special power plugs, so can not even
get it working/ live to look at it,
say my original Nokia (nice and small )
SamSung (i had a table by them, but fuzzy on details
between all the old stuff)
had an LG flip phone
and other specialized stuff over the decade(s),
