accessibility checks

determining how a person with a disability would access a website such as Section 508 for federally funded projects.

Screen readers, text only browsers, low vision, high contrast are some popular considerations as well as cognitive considerations.

[Doug] has had an email conversation with va.gov regarding cognitive considerations accessing http://va.gov under Section 508 accessibility rules. As the son of a veteran, Doug has access to VA's IRIS system which promises and delivers a 5-day turnaround. Service on this conversation regarding Section 508 was very prompt, was respectful, and was useful, although it did not produce changes.
