So went after a HoliDay
to the WareHouse
and while more construction,
it was nearly completed and opened with fanfare,
i wasn't there to see..

First of all we got the bences/
stone wall back to sit on waiting for
TheWareHouse to open,
construction fences have blocked it for year(s)
now...

There's BaseBall fields, two of them,
and signs,
History and information,
and a WiFi access point,
one of thebig problems there,
is wasted hours waiting in line,
but it wasa a hot day,
and didn't take the GardenCart,
(insert link here?)
as packed, and away,
like a lot of my stuff...

There's a bathroom which has been a problem,
but no pool, like a lot of things,
this a Nauck/ GreenVally and traditionally black
history / heritage area,
Negro leagues,
and history abounds,
likely does deSegregation and poverty
as food back in the 1960's 1970's
still the disparity
racially, ethnically,
while Nauck may have been a doctor,
and other famous, notable people
others (were|are)n't so lucky,
but i digress...

History is told with display/ boards,
and checkers/chess tables built into the park
picnic tables,
some sail like awnings some places,
especially the playground, a nice new one,
i told a mom with toddler
who walked over nearby,
and started playing imaginary chess,
wtih the blocks,
as she climbed up on the table bench seat,
and kicked the wood chip back to the mulching area,

wires and glass mark the difference,
still a mess, some left and trash still,
a spilled coffee cup and lid, i kicked the cup
over towrads the tras h dumpsters,
but the wires blocked from the road to the
sidewalk/ path,

I tried asking some woman that they thoguht of the
park and they rudely snickered/ laughed and
arrogantly igmored me,
while a woman with a dog, was nice,
walking along the gravel/ cinder? path along the stream,
to the Dog Park(s), separated stil lfor undersize
and timid/ victimised ones...
Oh, another things
distracting myself, as the dog was very attentive,
and didn't mean to get so much attention,
could have/ may be a shelter dog, idk,
and typical and available/ will be killed
in KillShelterInParadise (YYYY=?)
i gues i could carry some treats with me,
if were around dogs more,
some snacks i had packed for myself,
early no breakfast departures have problems,
as do not drinking/ carrying enough water,

oh, there are water fountains, but i don't know
if i can trust them, as filtered or not?
a water bottle and a drinking fountain,
but not a dog spout and bowl on the bottom,
sevearl people were walking dogs, that early,
and it' was Hot even early in the AM,
For(e)Cast to 93 degrees Farenhiet,
so not the warmes, as almost died?
collapsed a few times going home
a previous year, pulling the garden cart
of stuff...
See near OutSideDogs likely of last year...

BasketBall
and Tennis
but for some unknown reason
not allowing bikes on the tennis court(s)
like the recent BikeRodeo
this a fenced in basketball court,
or maybe reversed, Tennis fenced and BasketBall not,
go check it out, if you can /are willing
no pickup games going on, and only a few women
out walking early, a guy biking may have been
my first encounter, as i started exploring...

A guy near the bathrooms,
 apparently finishing construction,
 caulking and wanted to know if i would open the
 door(s), thinking i was a county employee,
 but i don't think they would like the bunny ears,
 i said, among other things...
 Snce a subcontractor, suggested he call
 Police non emergency number , as they would
 likely have emergency contact info for access to a lot of things...
 even if contracting changed post big opening day festivities,
 likely the day after BtWD (FriDay 20th or soon thereafter,
 )...
 as just early June...

Plus some indentation problems with the editor,
and maybe find some typos/ eLisp annoy / fanboy script
running on here...

But i digress into geeky.

Played/ tried to play with the kid(s)
that collected in the younger part of the playground,
there was a music type thing, a hammer gong type
and noticed the sizes are different and make different
tones, and a superball type embedded in the low bench
play table, among other attracdtions
a tube/ pipe to climb/ walk through,
and an arch i couldn't easily get under,
like a too tall to enter/ must be this tall to ride,
counter argument,
but did the limbo type thing and snuck through,
faighning (sp?) too tall...

a foam covered hill and some slides
making noise on the smaller ones,
and given the moms with kids some time
to themselves, exploring what the playground
has to offer...

A double swing seated looking at/ facing each other
in the small part...
and a tire type mesh thing swing...

Other towards the intersection,
South Nelson and 4 Mile Run?
along the W&ODjust near ShirtlingTon
and the start of W&OD at Alexandria border,
(one exit to Weenie Beenie back behind WETA
with satellite dishes and MicroWave tower(s),
are some adult size swings on angled iBeam
type artsy construction, limited swing,
and facing into the park
instead of a double sided choose to see the park
and business behind you, and for safety
knowing who is behind and other things...

Lights were another mystery,
but finally found some other odd things,
seemed angled and pointness,
but there are LED lights in the other
things which was low, and seemed to be
for hanging banners, or plants,
only a small bird found use for that,
and noticed the lights were still/ left on,
wasting energy too...

There was a little shade i kept going back to,
between the two BaseBall fields,
and a couple small bleachers,
one audence area had/has a power plug
outlet, while the other does not,
some some home field advantages,
and video recorded the tractor dragging
chains which work on the dirt,
i guess keeping more sand/
and light/ safe(r) to slide on...


The BaseBall Fields aseem to be for dreams
still, as not open, and some construction
barriers/ fences still around then/
at least one,
lgithting is likely included, but not everything
is probably working, done enough to show
and some things to finish to fully open...

Swimming is likely still at Long Branch
near the Pentagon,
and something as a beached whale i haven't done in
many many moons (read years/ decade(s) not months)

I turns out there was motorcycle racing sone there,
and some other hsitory for those intrested,
and watch were you step. some dark ladder like things
near the WheelHouse, a sculpture type framed
curved thing that can be walked through,
but not a lot of shade? rain coverage,
idk, something else to consider...
ArtsyFartsy, as some used to say,
makes you say hummm...

Like a lot of things Arlington, etc...
