Introduction

 

Judi is the author of "On Our Own: Patient Controlled Alternatives to the Mental Health System".

 

Many consumer/survivors/ex-patients would consider this book the Big Book of the consumer/survivor/expatient movement and names many drop in centers, both locally with On Our Own of Fairfax County, On Our Own of Montgomery County, On Our Own of Prince George's County statewide On Our Own of Charlottesville in VA, On Our Own of Roanoke and nationally at On Our Own of Maryland.

 

She was the keynote speaker at the 2006 VOCAL Conference, and previously spoke at VMHCA, the predecessor statewide consumer organization in the early 1990s.

 

She is currently on staff as the Director of Education and Training at the National Empowerment Center at http://Power2U.org .
