Original Text
So know fairly easily that from South Arlington,
BWI Airport area is North East,
but the Devil 😈 's Triangle 🔺
as my biking journal called it,
still exists...
Meandering, making my general way,
exploring along the way,
a five (5) to six (6) plus (+) hour tour,
sounding like Gilligan's Island?
So up early, and slow start,
hoped to leave by sunrise 🌅
but repacking,
and low levels of anxiety,
how safe is it?
Especially along a previously
published route?
Say a hundred miles,
a century ride, on my own,
with all those tons of metal,
plastic, etc whizzing by,
think they all care about someone
who only has change in their pocket
to make it to something
they can not pay to get into?
Given current politics, tax time,
and general unrest?
Crossings
Pick a bridge, that is the chute,
limiting part.
Only three or so possible,
within reasonable range,
Took Rosslyn as the furthest North,
without excessive hills,
so Key 🔑 Bridge 🌉 :
High, scenic and into Georgetown,
but early, a while after sunrise 🌅 ,
so less traffic 🚥 too...
Motos
See some motorcycles meeting on
the other side near a liquor store,
maybe the Hogs and Heros funeral ride
for another fallen public servant,
(or another riding club?)
whos time was up,
likely by someone else's carelessness...
Climb Up From River
Up hills, past where I found ID
and was attacked around Father's Day,
years back...
Scars still healing years later,
or a hater just taking credit for a loose lock nut
and smallest sprocket?
Self mechanics and heading off fast,
near skinny tire guys,
look down at someone's ID,
and threatening vehicles behind,
a dark SUV on Saturday
making an example of those they hate?
Squealing tires pulling off too fast,
imnsho.
Bleeding, and got out of there,
to a supposedly safe place,
TBH now further downgraded,
as can not even use the bathroom
when volunteering this new season...
No need to stop there,
though someone mentioned others might want to go,
I prefer to be alone,
too early forxstore to be open,
no money for parts and forgotten tools/pump anyways.

Up 14th Street, hilly parts,
even along a bike route.
Kennedy
A farmer's market setting up,
Street name reminds me of RFK's
"Why do we do this?
Not because it is easy,
But because it is hard..."
or very similar.
Heavy
No tunes this trip, brought,
most everything but the kitchen sink,
packed heavy and looking for hills,
I will pay dearly later on,
but for now, still cool 😎 and early.
eScooter Unattended
A scooter, electric on the sidewalk,
unattended, a guy nearby,
cell phone 📱 out, doing a selfie,
maybe trying to get me in it,
but i don't want that...
People may have seen me,
have to read this, for school 🏫 ,
detox, jail, whatever...
But I'm trying to get away,
and do not want that,
some alone time,
get out and get going,
especially since crowds later anyways...
Piney Branch
One road that seemed to go
the direction I wanted,
at that time and place...
Hits a big hill T at New Hampshire.
High traffic, like i'm trying to avoid,
but better than Route 1?
Someone thought I cut miles off the route...

Hilly past TPFF site,
some Boy? (Eagle? Cub?) Scouts
in the parking lot,
getting loaded up,
Seemed to know me,
"He'll have everything he needs
when he gets there",
i overheard...
Later wondering if about me,
or something else altogether...

Seemed to go on forever,
not just a town,
but an area...
Outside the Beltway
At New Hampshire
would go too much North
and maybe Westish,
so taking a right,
hoping some stairs like shape
of North, then East,
would get me going
in the general direction intended...
Zig Zag would be 45 degree,
instead of 90 degree and
Slanted.

I remember parts, but no printer,

The only real place heckled/harrassed,
typical outside base businesses:
liquor stores and clubs,
along construction 🚧 areas and
higher speed than I would have liked..
Where to go left,
for more North,
than East

Small residential,
from panning maps,
remembered it connected...

Train whistle some kids
with parents in the parking lot,
Fights boredom, some witnesses
of passing thru and funny,
"I did my homework" emphatically
overheard...

Crossed tracked,
Seemed to go residential,
Not sure it went thru,
So asked a guy walking,
He was from Boston,
looked it up,
said no,
& showed a loop,
But attacks from others,
"we don't want you here/there,"
Etc.
Careful of where you stop,
Locals, like chasing dogs,
may not be friendly..

Saw a lot on the ground,
But only really picked up this,
Some road damage, like run over,
And wrong size for me,
16 not 15 mm pedal wrench size,
But my first ratcheting one,

Hanging out,

aka screenager,
i mention his low front tire...

Consider the quality of comments,

for their profit &/or enjoyment...
Girl in window seen too,

Not everyone is friendly,
but not everyone is bad either,

Seemed like I knew where I was,
while on it, but more fast and
not for bikes at 55 mph...

but I only have about enough

And evening, Saturday,
not a good time,
nor Fridays, game nights,
any type of ball games
and they are likely drinking beer 🍻 ,
making it even more risky...

A bit East of where i intended,
but not yet hit river/bay,
so not too much off...

Bike/trail loop
around the airport,
BIG,
Check runway lengths of international airports,
number of angles,
Etc...
Radius of loop,
in miles?

Before NEM, so bail,
too tired, save for myself,
warm, getting late,
save 4 miles,
back and forth...
Train departs in another hour,
maybe just go see,
but likely miss it,
and more waiting...
And a bathroom,
my first pit stop of the trip.
Sadly stopped in front of
vending machines,
another buying, but I cannot,
for most of the wait.
Not enough money to buy in stores,
in order to use a bathroom elsewhere,
what to do with my bike and stuff,
while going in, etc.
