Frankenstorm2012

Introduction/Definition/etc

Like a lot of things Halloween, you grow out of it,

and it's just kind of nothing, a routine you go through,

or you get into Horror Movies, and Goth and stuff,

which I never did...

I guess, with kids, it's different...

Reliving what you did wrong as a kid...

Body

The Storm was not much of anything around Warshington, DC.

A few trees down, people with power out, a media event,

like Elections all Hype, nothing happens.

Drove around a little, and a few trees down,

lots of leaves and debris on the road (MotorCyclists

and Bikes/ etc NOTE: Very Slippery Wet Leaves!)

but at least on Tuesday Afternoon, nothing much,

people not on the roads much, so no rush hour traffic,

saw one big tree down and two girls jump

out of a car, and try and make a media

report about it, find a tree down, go take video

of it, and call that News, missing the whole point,

the bigger picture, focus on the bad, and miss

the non event, hyped so much, you need to make it

look like something happened.

And if power went out for you, something happened,

as it got cold too.

My internet went out, for a day, that is all, really.

And the Food Distribution, after two hours of waiting

and preparation, PlayingGod2012  God didn't appear,

or theologically God is Dead Anyway

(ever read Nietzsche?, not the Hitler interpretation of

AntiSemitism/ Nazi, but the real Nietzsche?)

I spent a month in January in College reading it

in the freezing Tundra, as I called it,

wind swept crunchy ice, emptiness, appropriately

Nihlistic, (sp?) Existential, and well depressing too.

100 pages of philosophy per day, and it gets to you,

weirdness happens, the professors blue eyes and

you start thinking he's Aryian (sp?), etc...

I was never religious and don't see a reason to start

now, so Catechism, and all the other religious vocabulary

and philosophy made little sense, but I kept reading,

and for the final tried predicting the outcome

(in a Scientific sort of way)

told I failed, explained what I did, and well Kant would

have possibly been proud, but as an Engineering student

I wasn't what the liberal arts prof wanted,

And then the next year, after the college closed over

the summer, I wasn't what the Engineering School

wanted either, too liberal, so fucked both ways really...

After cleaning toilets one summer between (there was no

Work Study, because it wasn't a required term),

not wanting to go home to the dysfunctional family,

but not wanting to live like that, dropped out,

and later went back, an expensive preview to a failed major,

for me, I guess they taught me, hrumph.

So if the idea is to eliminate people, well done,

but if the idea is to teach people, You Failed.

Ironically studying Fynman's (sp?) Lectures on Physics,

Infinitesimal Calculus (including a Hype, magical

qualities that made Calculus like Algebra)

and Knuth's Art of Programming series,

Ph.D. reference material and I hadn't graduated

High School yet, so ended up in a

Gifted and Talented summer program

with Defense...  Unfortunately, the time

I went to study those things half day in

HS was called Social Studies, so

ended up almost St. Elsewhere

science wise, and well that went well...

No unlike PlayingGod2012  and canceling

Food Distribution, for unknown reason after

about 15 people showed up, set up, waited,

and non help.  It's about your ego, Provider,

so why care about those you are supposed to serve?

So my statement, was we didn't get food,

she doesn't get paid for this week,

no food, no work, no pay, no Care...

How's that for Non Essential Services?

Conclusion

Summary of experience or similar

Other places like New Jersey,

and New York City got hit hard,

but around Warshington, nothing much...

Except the typically bad Human Services,

fire her, and others like her, IMO.
